Neutrogena Visibly Bright Daily Facial Cleanser Review

Looks like Neutrogena Visibly Bright Daily Facial Cleanser came out early this Spring but I’m just hearing about it now.

Anyone try it?

Supposedly it transforms dull, tired skin to visibly brighten and refreshes it in as little as four uses.

Hmmm considering I have dull skin I decided to try it.

I typically like using cheapie cleansers like this with my Clarisonic in the AM as I rely on more expensive lotions, potions, and cleansers for my PM skincare routine.

I’m always terribly drawn in by anything that promises to brighten. Supposedly this contains a formula infused with Soy and Vitamin C to brighten skin with constant use. Vitamin C is a tricky ingredient to keep stable so proceeding to place it in a cleanser and dub it as brightening well, that evokes my skepticism.

On the upside, it actually does give skin a brighter appearance after use however, there are no long term benefits to that brightening but hey, it’s a great fresher up cleanser in the AM and it perks my dull skin up a fair bit so who am I to complain?

This has a bright, sunny citrus scent and has an iridescent pale gold shade coloring. It’s water based so it doesn’t leave skin feeling tight or dry after use and rinses clean away. It creates a decent amount of lather and leaves skin feeling squeaky clean and yes, visibly brighter after use (just not long term).

Overall, for under five bucks (got mine at the Evil Empire aka Walmart) it’s a cheap thrill to use with your Clarisonic or as an AM cleanser in the shower (that’s how I use it). It kinda reminds me of the Clean & Clear brightening cleanser I love so much. If you’re looking for a basic cleanser that eases dullness and removes basic makeup, oil, and impurities this is a nice budget pick.

Tried it?

Love it?

i HATE when skincare companys put shimmer in their products , i have sensitive skin and it breaks me out ! why cant they just brighten my skin without the shimmer?

  • Amber Joy

Does it leave some kind of shimmer/sparkle/pearliness on your face? Because it seems to have some sort of pearlescent quality to it in the picture.

Hm, I’ve been using my same cleanser for a while now and while it works fine for me, I kind of want to change things up! (Or it’s just another excuse for me to buy more things, hahahahaha!)

I’ll put this on my list of things to check out for sure, I would love slightly brighter skin even if it’s not long-lasting (and it never is, is it?!)

Thanks as usual for the review, Muse 🙂

I got a sample of this in the Target Beauty Bag and my experience was pretty much like yours. I thought it was pretty good but I don’t think the results really last. Might become my next pick after my current cleanser runs out.

it’s pretty basic daily cleanser lemony so not sure it’s something you absolutely need unless you run out of your current cleanser ;D

I got this in a Target free sample bag and was pretty impressed by it!

I got this cleanser and i love it, but after rinsing i still have shimmer left all over my face. Am i not rinsing enough? Other than that it is great and has made my skin alot healthier:)
