Review & Swatches: Cheap Thrills with a Perfectly Nude Eye Look courtesy NYX Eyeshadow Pure Skin

NYX Eyeshadow Pure Silk Review

I’m kinda on this kick where I’m loving on shades that brighten my eyes up but are barely there. Bobbi Brown Nude Beach and Navajo are two plus I love Laura Mercier Eye Canvas and Trish McEvoy’s Eye Base Essentials.

What are your fav barely there eyeshadow shades?

My newest pick is NYX Eyeshadow in Pure Skin.

Love!

NYX Pure Skin is a creamy matte beige shade. I know, I know you must be thinking, “What? Matte? Not you Muse!” but I actually like this formula a lot.

NYX Eyes shadow Pure Silk

This is very silky with a smooth feel and it applies quite beautifully. No patchiness, no dryness, this is how all mattes should be. Have you ever run into terribly dry matte shades that apply absolutely awful? It really makes you hate on the finish in a major way. Pure Silk will convince you that matte’s aren’t all that evil after all.

The shade brightens eyes up with a barely there finish that provides just enough shadow to give you a natural, subtle look but plenty of pop that you can obviously see you’re wearing makeup in an elegant, no nonsense way.

Personally, Pure Skin feels like one of those essential shades everyone should own.

My favorite practically nude eyelid colors are Virgin from UD, and then whatever pinky nude is in the upper left corner of the WnW Lust 6pan palette. They’re both matte, and I need to be going for specific looks to use ‘em as a lid color, but they’re perfect for it.

This color reminds me a lot of Virgin, actually.

      Virgin is shimmery, isn’t it?

Not shimmery at all. It’s barely a satin.
        I love UD Virgin too.

I love when “you spend” my money on NYX and not Chanel, Dior, etc. :) Thanks for posting about this, I’ve heard about it from other bloggs, it will be mine soon. PS. My youngest kitty is a bengal and he has this wierd obsession with watching me put my make up on. Every morning he sits on my vanity and patiently watches me get ready! My other cats couldn’t care less.

I saw a review on youtube about a relatively cheap brand of eyeshadow called Wild and Crazy eyeshadow. Have you ever tried it? If so what’s your opinion?

Hi! Tried to track this down online but there is none with this name. There’s a shade called pure skin but not pure silk. Please advise. Thanks :)
