Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Concealer Review & Swatches

Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Concealer eh? What does that even mean? DNA Advantage? Shrug…ok, if you says so.

Revlon Age Defying Concealer is a newly launched, anti-aging concealer that was released this Summer. I’m a concealer junkie so of course, I snatched this up when I saw it on shelves.

Let’s peek!

Supposedly Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Concealer is an anti-aging concealer however they don’t say what the benefits are and a quick peek at the ingredients doesn’t yield anything too impressive either.

But hey anti-aging benefits aside it’s not a bad concealer. I have a bad track record with concealers purchased at the drugstore in most cases but I will say this is one of the better ones I’ve tried.

I didn’t love the color. I went with the Light Medium shade and it’s a bit too yellow for me. This is a great shade for diffusing the look of dark circles but I was more interested in concealing finer lines, puffiness, and given my eyes a brighter look and it didn’t quite do all that.

This is a wand style application with a sponge tip applicator so you can swipe it on and blend out easily. The formula is a thinner creamy with a very hydrating feel. I was terribly impressed they got the moisture down correctly here as in most of my drugstore concealer purchases I always end up with a terribly dry formula. This is water based with water being one of the main ingredients so you can blame the water content on the cool, moisturizing feel and texture of the concealer.

I had absolutely no problems getting it into place and blending it out. The formula is very easy to work with and provides sheer to medium coverage.

As I mentioned above the color wasn’t entirely impressive to me. It did conceal most of my issues (under my eyes) however, I wish it would have brightened a little better as I was still left with exhausted looking eyes after application. However, those with darker circles are guaranteed to appreciate the stronger yellow base for addressing this issue.

Overall, Revlon Age Defying with DNA Advantage Concealer might be worth exploring. I’m not entirely sure of the anti-aging benefits here but the formula proves excellent for aging eyes due to the moisturizing feel and finish. Props to Revlon for creating such a nice formula as gosh, almost EVERY single drugstore concealer I buy is always so terribly dry and drying. This has an easy to blend formula with a moisturizing feel that’s well worth a try out. I wasn’t impressed with the shade so I’m curious if I should go a bit lighter. It concealed many of my problems but like I said, I still felt my eyes looked a bit on the tired side. I rely on my concealer to wake up my eye area. I had no issues with fading or creasing either, this wore strongly all day.

If you’re seeing a cheaper drugstore concealer you might want to check this one out.

I’ve realized that most of the drugstore makeup that says something about anti-aging turns out to be pretty decent.

you liked this right CJ? did you feel like it woke your eyes up?

  • Mia D.

Yeah I didn’t care for it either. I felt it didn’t cover enough. It’s too thin for the coverage I wanted.

    • the Muse

mmm coverage was good for me but..I dunno, it just didn’t look fresh enough for me, my eyes still looked tired after I applied?

No I haven’t tried this one yet, but I LOVE a good yellow based concealer- so it sounds perfect for me!! I want so desperately to find the perfect drugstore concealer as I go thru so much of it on me and my clients, so I’m gonna give this one a whirl!
Thanks for the thorough and always amusing reviews:)

So happy you posted this review, thanks–I’ve been curious about this product. Always have a hard time with the colour selection of drugstore concealers, and the dryness factor…maybe medium is a better / less yellow bet?

    • the Muse

def gonna try another shade andrea ;-D curious if light or medium would be better!

It always throws me off when “DNA” is thrown in the name like errm Revlon are you throwing in blood and saliva samples CSI style or what’s going on here?
I use the Revlon Age Defying Moisturizing Concealer Cream w/spf 25 and I really like it! Have you tried?

    • the Muse

i haven’t…I heard fairly good things ;-D I agree, DNA just sounds off!

  • Tiffany Martin

OH man they must think we’re idiots, lol. DNA Advantage indeed.

I tried this concealer and agree, it is the first one that is not drying and it is so easy to blend, love the moisture feel. I have been using the age defying makeup since they came out with and and I love the coverage. I don’t base the age defying to any makeup. It is all in the creams a person uses.

My personal experience, this product irritated my skin horribly. It’s been 4 days and still itchy and dried skin around eyes. I would say test it on your arm before applying.

I have noticed, from experience that it is a person’s skin and hereditary. I use this concealer and I love it. A few months ago I switched eye creams and tried a L’Oreal cream. It burned my skin so bad, I put a piture on their Face book page. It was so red and burnt, I had to use a dermatologist
Rx. I will never try something new again. I love revlon’s makeup and eye products. The ingredients in creams are so long and small print, it makes them hard to read. I got a check in the mail and a phone call from L’Oreal, but, I will NEVER use any of there products again.
