Skin Food Good Afternoon Rose Lemon Tea BB Cream Review & Swatches
Skin Food Good Afternoon Rose Lemon Tea BB Cream is one of several afternoon tea infused BB Cream formulas that the brand released.
Today I’ll be reviewing the Rose Lemon Tea version.
Take a peek!
These are a tiny 1 oz size tube of BB Cream that come packaged in a cute cardboard box. Each formula is supposedly infused with skin nourishing tea ingredients but chalk it up as a marketing technique or at least that’s how I feel about the product.
By BB Cream standards I think this is a disappointing formula as it has a lower SPF and sheerer finish.
The Rose Lemon Tea formulation is a rose, lemony scented cream that kinda reminds me of the scent that Skin Food uses in their Fresh Juice Skincare Collection. It’s part floral, part freshness, and a good deal of lemon citrus notes. It’s very pleasant but sensitive skin users might find it irritating.
The formula on this reminds me of Dr Jart’s Water Fuse BB Cream as it has a very odd texture that appears separated. You’ll want to shake this up a fair bit prior to use as I feel like the pigment becomes separated from the water base easily. So a few shakes prior to squeezing product from the tube will keep things “together” for lack of a better word. Don’t worry about the separation, this is merely how the formula is and how it works as it’s the type of BB Cream that transforms into a water-like texture when it hits skin and absorbs easily.
It’s a very sheer finish but enough pigment is there so you end up with a fresher more even look to skin. At first I didn’t love it because I expect considerably more coverage from BB Cream but after trying it for several days it slowly grew on me and before you knew it I was using it daily.
I don’t love Dr Jart’s version of this style formula however, Skin Food’s somehow works for me. The watery feel and texture is very refreshing on my skin and I’m left with a nice, natural glow after use so my skin looks smoother, softer, and healthier.
Overall, I enjoyed this. I’d like to Muse Approve it for purchase but I feel like many people won’t enjoy the unusual formulation that isn’t quite what’s expected of a BB Cream. The hydrating finish, lovely glow it lends my face, and the way it eases dullness are all key points I loved about it. The aromatic lemony scent was charming as well! I don’t love the smaller size but after carefully musings over this I realized I have SO many tubes of BB Cream that they’ll go off before I can use all of them up due to the pigmentation of each and the fact I only use a little as it goes a long, long way. So I now kinda appreciate a 1 oz sheerer formula like this.
Skin Food did well here.
Worth checking out for BB Cream virgins who are a little scared of full on coverage that BB Cream offers.
I got mine directly from Korea however, a good deal of sellers including Imomoko.com carry this.
Loves it!
