Soap & Glory A Great Kisser Review & Swatches

Soap & Glory A Great Kisser is just too cute. It might stem from my teen years of makeup lust but balms in tins are my downfall even though I associate them with germs, bacteria, and all kinds of grossness.

But who can resist a lip balm in a cute vintage tin?

People, it’s freaking hard, Imma tell you I tried to resist, truly…!

Soap & Glory A Great Kisser Lip Moisture Balm was released around December 2011 or so (don’t quote me, I didn’t look back to check the date) in three flavors within the UK. Sadly, a majority of the cosmetics Soap & Glory has done up until this point haven’t yet reached our shores and that includes A Great Kiss Balm but we can hope at some point we’ll see it.

My best friend Libby who lives in London kindly grabbed me the peach version but now I’m sorta wanting the Chocolate Cherry and Sweet Coconut flavors as well! Bad Muse, bad! Like you need another lip product in your larger than life makeup world.

These come in a vintage little tin and have a soft, emollient formula. Juicy Peach is a nude peachy shade which applies transparent with a high glossy finish. The flavor and scent is that of a succulent peach. It’s a very nice flavor and isn’t artificial or plastic smelling at all!

I found the balm’s formula is more of a gloss once it hits your lips and heats up. It has a smooth glide with a moisturizing, lightweight feel and a super shiny look to it.

The balms are SUPER generously size at 0.63 oz for 5. I imagine if they hit the states we’ll be looking at $12-$15 for them (if Soap and Glory was still sold at Target I imagine that price would be a far sweeter $8-$10).

Overall, a Great Kisser is worthy of a pick up but you do have to get over the fact they are finger application which makes them far from travel friendly and just aren’t exactly hygienic all around. If your anal good nature can get passed the packaging, what’s inside is rather brilliant!

I’d suggest checking out Evil-Bay if you’d like to try them as I really don’t have a time frame of when or even if they’ll launch at Sephora.

Have you tried Great Kisser Balm?

Love it?

Not for you?

I purchased this item.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse.
