Chanel Lumiere d’Artifices Beiges Illuminating Powder Review & Swatches

Chanel Lumiere dArtifices Beiges Illuminating Powder ($65) is part of the Les Essentials de Chanel Fall 2012 Collection.

Lately the thing I’m loving about some of Chanel’s Illuminating Powder releases is they aren’t so sparkly that you can’t use them as a finishing powder of sorts.

Take a look!

Chanel Lumiere dArtifices Beiges Illuminating Powder is a highlighter powder in a graduating beige shade design. The powder has a raised imprinted design of strips in soft shades of creamy beige that graduate to deeper ones. Although I’m not a fond fan of beige anything I find these colors terribly pretty. They are particularly appealing if you’d like to swipe a shadow brush over one and apply a bit of the powder on eyes for a brightening eye look.

The beiges combine to create a soft shade of nude peach beige. There is a fine silver sparkle over spray but the powder underneath this has a iridescent finish that lends a glow to cheeks and face (or eyes).

As with all Chanel powders this has a finely milled formula that’s soft and silky if not a little powdery when your brush makes contact (it does kick up a good deal of powder when a bushier brush is used for application).

Overall, I applaud Chanel for creating such an easy to wear highlighter. So many times brands create highlighters with too much sparkle or shimmer thus resulting in a disco ball finish. Lumiere dArtifices Beiges Illuminating Powder is a natural highlighter that gives just the right radiance to face without appearing overly done. I appreciate the ease of application as well.

It’s a bit expensive but I know Chanel fans will absolutely adore it.

You were supposed to tell me it’s awful and I don’t need it. Kidding. Thanks for the review! I need it but not sure I can afford it. 😛

I was most excited for this highlighter–but when I went to purchase it at the counter and swatched it, I was sorely disappointed. I like subtle highlighters, but this was a little TOO subtle–it only added a powdery beige color to my skin. Too bad :/

Aww I like it but I think it was a little too expensive for me 🙁 .
