Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Luminous Bronzing Powder Review & Swatches

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Luminous Bronzing Powder ($60) launched in two shades with the Chanel Summer 2012 Collection. I’m the type of person that avoids bronzers but occasionally like to dip my toes into the bronzing pool.

I have discovered by being a little adventurous that there are bronzers out there that do give just the right glow without dulling my skin out completely.

Is Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Luminous Bronzing Powder one of those bronzers?

Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Luminous Bronzing Powder in Sable Beige is one of two colors that Chanel released this bronzer in for Summer 2012.

This is a whooping 0.53 oz in size so you’re getting a good deal of product with your purchase. The powder is arranged in several strips that feature warm shades of tan, beige, and gold.

You might be tempted to use individual shades for contouring and highlighting but the strips are terribly tiny so the best bet is to swirl in all the shades and apply. I also felt like the shades didn’t have major differences between them so even using them separately would probably result in a similiar finishes.

The bronzing effect here is very soft and subtle. It gives my skin more of a golden beige sheen versus the full on bronzing experience. I like this finish a lot as it isn’t terribly muddy or overly orange. The warmer glow it lends my cheeks and face is very natural without being overly frosty or shimmery.

I find the powder soft and silky so it blends fairly easily onto cheeks. You can use a small sponge tip applicator and use some of the shades on lids as well for a soft wash of color. I tried it and it works nicely as an eyeshadow.

Overall, Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel proves an incredibly easy to wear bronzer that acts as both a highlighter and a bronzer that adds a lovely dash of glow to cheeks. This isn’t your typical bronzing look but a more flattering, easier to wear version of the it!

Gorgeous!

I’m so jealous!! I did not pick this one up cuz in Mexico it’s sooo expensive, and I do have last year’s chanel bronze corail, which I seldome use, so there was no point on purchasing this one.
I went for the laguna bronzer instead, so far loving it!!

Hey, that’s very nice! I hate bronzers that are too overly pigmented or dark, as they’re often really hard to fix once you apply them on your face. But this one seems nice and subtle, if a tad too shimmery. It seems kind of light/pinky for a bronzer, though! Looks kind of like a blush/bronzer hybrid to me.

This is close to the effect I get from using the lower half of Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strip in Vegas. I use the top part to highlight. That one may be a wee bit more golden, but it’s organized light to dark so it’s a little bit more versatile than this one.

Btw to all the pale guys and girls, the other shade sable beige, is lighter than this one and so very easy to use. If you think you can’t use bronzer cuz your too fair, get this in sable beige like now.

I loved this so much when an SA applied it to me, but sadly i didn’t have the funds to get this. I did however, get Vitalumiere Aqua foundation and Illusoire Illusion d’Ombre. If this is still at the counter in Nordstrom when i go back in august i will pick it up
