Dr. Jart Firming Sleeping Mask Review
As you know the Dr. Jart collection at Sephora has some brand new skincare products that have launched for Summer/Fall 2012. One of those products is the new Dr. Jart + Firming Sleeping Mask ($48).
I’ve tried MANY Asian sleeping packs in my day and I have to say many are overrated and don’t do very much for my skin.
I’ve never actually tried any from Dr. Jart so I went into this with an open mind knowing how well Dr. Jart’s products have always worked for me.
Let’s take a look!
Dr. Jart Firming Sleeping Mask is an overnight treatment mask which aids skin cell turn over supposedly. It promises active ingredients that absorb easily into skin that deliver moisture while restoring elasticity and boosting collagen.
It also promises to transform dry, dull skin overnight resulting in cell renewal and a smoother skin texture.
That’s a whole lot of fantastic there.
It contains Niacinamide and Kava to increase the collagen barrier which improves elascity. It also contains, my personal fav, hyaluronic acid for added hydration and also for retaining moisture.
After serum and moisturizer you can apply a thin layer prior to sleeping at night and rinse in the AM with lukewarm water. I typically save it for 10 minutes prior to bedding down. It’s a gel-like consistency which absorbs easily and has an herbal scent. I do feel a slight tingle and warming after application but this quickly subsides.
After a week of use my skin both looks and feels softer and smoother. I also wake up with a brighter complexion and dullness is eased considerably. It puts a bit of a glow back into my skin. I can’t say how well it is doing in the anti-aging department as my skin is still very good on my face outside of finer lines on my eyes.
Overall, it proves one of the better sleeping masks I’ve had the pleasure of using. After using it for two weeks I was surprised how easily it became part of my nightly regime as I typically don’t like to use anything else after I’ve applied my moisturizer. Simply put, I like the way my face looks and feels on the next day after use. I’m unsure how long term the results are here but as of now my face is considerably softer than it was going into my testing.
I was a little meh on the price as this is considerably cheaper in Korea however, having to not deal with airmail is a blessing as I can simply go to Sephora and pick it up when I run low.
Would I buy it again?
Yes.
I like it.
I have hopes it’ll have long term benefits as well.
Available now at Sephora and Sephora.com
