Lorac Pro Cream Eyeliner Review & Swatches

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

Lorac Pro Cream Eyeliner is the new love of my makeup loving life.

As rather big fan of Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner I feel every so slightly guilty of cheating on Bobbi but facts if facts, Lorac, you have the better formula.

Being as goofy as I am with liquid liner I do find gel eyeliner considerably easier to work with. But as you probably noticed in many of my posts I leave off eyeliner from many of my looks. Reason? I feel a little over done lining my upper lash line…!

Anyone have that feeling? I just can’t work the look. So when I do use gel eyeliner I tend to go with a VERY, very nude eye look but today I got a little daring. I was testing out Gleaming Bronze so I paired it up with a little Lorac Pro Cream Eyeliner and yes, it pops but it might be too much. You’ve been warned.

So what’s to love here?

Lorac has successfully created a foolproof gel formula with a creamy, easy glide texture that’s absolutely gorgeous. This is a formula that’s the truest definition of a gel as it has that sort of “pudding” give when you dip into it. Does that make any sense at all? Ya know, your brush kinda bounces off it like jello.

The texture isn’t the only thing that’s incredible about it. The pigmentation is outstanding and the black shade I tried out had a rich color pay off that really added drama to my eye look.

One of the perks of Pro Cream Eyeliner is the funky packaging design. Mind you, it isn’t a new design as other brands have embraced it in the past including Rimmel. This is a tiny screw top jar with a funnel shaped topper that houses the brush, it kinda looks like the gel liner is wearing a party hat, wahooo party, cake! It could be deemed a little awkward for travel but it’s actually so tiny you won’t feel that way in the least. I typically misplace brushes that come with liners so I appreciate I can tuck the brush right back into the top, screw it all together, and tote it with me anywhere I go.

Although you won’t need to travel with it because this bad boy lasts and lasts and lasts. I have dry eyes and I had no issues with flaking and no problems with smudging or fading. I put it on at 5AM and it got me through a VERY hot day in San Diego and into the early morning (1:14 AM to be exact) and still looked like I just put it on. I’m not sure how it’ll fair on oily eyes since it does have an emollient texture which gives it that smooth, easy glide across the lash line but I think once it sets you shouldn’t have a problem at all.

One thing to take note, it is a little smaller and a little more expensive than a MAC Fluidline at $19/0.08oz versus $15/0.1oz. But….the formula reigns supreme in my opinion.

Muse Approved for purchase.

I’m going ahead and say you NEED this.

Fantastic eyeliner.

I typically don’t get excited about eyeliners but Lorac Pro Cream Eyeliner impressed.

Put it on the “to be hauled” list. I think you’ll like it as much as I do.

Tried it already?

Do share!

oooh I’m intrigued! I have, for the most part, stopped wearing gel liner and mostly just stick with pencils with just a bit of MUFE Aqua Black for tightlining. But I WANT this! It looks like it has a super gel consistency–more so than other “gel” liners I’ve seen…maybe it’s just in the picture but it looks much more dense and jello-like. I like that! I don’t really like when gel liners get a bit moussy almost. I like being able to dip my brush into the pot and get just a bit onto the tip without having it clump all over the sides of the brush…if that made any sense at all

  • Lulle

I like that it comes with its own brush, well, if the brush is useable of course. I still have plenty of Bobbi Brown gel liner but if it comes in different shades, I might need to take a look!

  • Stacie

I love Lorac so much! It saddens me that I don’t feel like they get enough love. I’ve never been disappointed in anything I’ve ever picked up. Any chance you got your hands on the Pro Palette? I’m dying to read a good (informational) review on it!

    XOXO!

  • Suzi

How did the brush work? I get nervous about those things. Right now I am loving my Lancome brush or my Laura Mercier.

    • the Muse

I like it Suzi, very handy! Comparable to Bobbi’s eyeliner brush!

  • Lorraine ER

How well does the included brush work? Is it that much better than Fluidline? I like fluidline but I have trouble with it wrecking my liner brushes for some reason.

    • the Muse

excellent. good brush Lorraine. Small enough to create a thin line but large enough for a thicker. It’s comparable to bobbi brown’s small flat liner brush.

  • Ashley

Have you tried lining the upper lash line? I find it makes SUCH a difference that is a bit subtler than lining the top lash line

    • the Muse

sorry ashley you confused me. aren’t the top and upper lash line the same? or did you mean tightlining?

      • Ashley

I typed that after 2 mikes hard lemonade (I’m a light weight). I meant upper waterline

        • the Muse

lol no worries ashley, you did mean tightlining 😀 I’m actually not GREAT at it. my eyes water when I do it and it destroys my eye makeup :-/

          • Angel

Muse! That eyeliner is GORGEOUS on you! For realz! I don’t think you look overdone in the slightest, quite the opposite actually. It really makes your eyes pop. I think it takes some time getting used to looks we don’t wear everyday. Like I hardly ever wear blush, but when I do, I think I look like Bozo (look him up kids). But in reality, I know it’s just a little out of my comfort zone.

And a tip on the tight lining. I always apply it first, before my concealer, mascara, shadow, etc. I’m able to see my lashes clearly so I can really get in there. Plus, for me, it eliminates any smearing of other products and my eyes water less. When I do it after all my other eye makeup, it’s too hard for me to apply cleanly and precisely.

          • the Muse

aw thanks angel ;-D I’m positive you don’t look like bozo girl ;D

mmm good tip! thanks for the rec! I’ll keep this in mind next time I’m using liner! thanks chica!

  • MandyB

Awww Muse, don’t be so hard on yourself. You look great rockin the liner!

  • Dia

I am the exact opposite! I think I don’t look finished until I add some sort of liner, be it liquid, gel, pencil or smokey shadow. I think it pulls everything together.

    • the Muse

dia I wish I felt the same but I always look too made up with it :-/ some people can rock it hard though, I’m just not one of those people hehe!

      • Kaitlin

I MUST wear eyeliner! As my grandmother used to say, “Otherwise your eyes look like two raisins pushed into dough.” Seriously, if I could only use ONE cosmetic (other than SPF), it would be eyeliner!

        And this one looks ah-mazing!

        • the Muse

lol two raisins pushed into dough? ha! that’s a new one ;-D TRY this you need to! it’s brilliant!

          • Kaitlin

Don’t twist my arm! 😉 I’m definitely going to nab this!

  • Petitez

Sounds great but I don’t think I can get it here. 🙁 Looks great on you though. 🙂

    • the Muse

aw thanks Serene…sadly, no, 🙁 Lorac isn’t sold in Singapore le sigh!

  • Kiss & Make-up

Sounds interesting! I rarely use liquid liner and I almost always go for gel liner. I haven’t tried this cream eyeliner yet, but chances are I will 🙂

  • Abbey

I don’t think the liner is too much at all! It’s a good look for you.

  • Kim

I’m not a big fan of lining my top lash line either. It always looks “too much.” I usually stick to pencil liner when I do line my eyes but this gel looks interesting. You look nice in the photos, Muse.

    • the Muse

aw thanks kim, I think it’s a little overly done. I totally relate, when I use a dark eyeshadow and line my eyes I feel like a drag queen lol!

  • Rosa

That eyeliner looks GREAT on you! This eyeliner must be mine soon!

  • Michelle

Ooh…I think I need this. I’ve never tried a brush eyeliner before. I have a Stila eyeliner pen – but it has a tendency to “bleed” a bit – very annoying. Does this gel formula do the same? BTW – this looks so very pretty on you; not over done at all 🙂

  • Indy

Eyeliner really suits you, but I get the whole.. something is hard for me to pull off feeling(even if its really not the case!)

I’m the opposite to you- I learnt how to apply liquid eyeliner at age 14 (until about a year ago my daily make up look was simply eyeliner and lipgloss).

I have quite recently discovered a love of the girly which includes eyeshadow but I still have trouble with mascara. I feel like it makes my lashes look (most likely only to my eyes) grotesquely out of proportion to my face. Like a caterpillar perched on my eyelids. Eww.

This looks nice! On the buy and try list for my next trip to the US!

    • the Muse

thanks indy! awww I think you’re just using the wrong mascara, truly the right curler and mascara combo can do WONDERS girl ;-D

  • Lisa

I think you rock the darker eye mu very well. If fact, I think it’s the prettiest eye look I’ve seen on you!

  • Karena

Looks gorgeous on you, Muse!! Very lovely! Thanks so much for the excellent review!

  • the beauty alchemist

The liner is def not too much for you. You look great. Now I need to invetigate this, although I have v. oily eyelids.

    • the Muse

aw thanks you! ;-D I think it should set fine on oily lids, let me know what you think! Was just replying to you on twitter, we need to chat soon! So MUCH DW info ;-D and Diana Rigg as the Queen of Thorns should prove interesting!

  • midori

Hi Muse! That looks lovely on you! I think I need to try this out…my beloved shu uemura eyeliner is running out and I need another black eyeliner : )

  • BooBooNinja

I don’t think the liner look is OTT for you. It looks great!
I’m interested in hearing how this eyeliner fares over time. I wonder if it dries out quickly as most other gel liners do. Muse?

    • the Muse

thanks Booboo! 🙂 so far, it’s holding strong but I’ve only had it two weeks…!

  • Ruth

You’re way too hard on yourself! the eyeliner and eye shadow look great on you but it’s all comfort level. I’ve worn liquid eyeliner with cat eyes for years and for me, it’s the norm. and some days the cat eye is huge! just for grins and giggles =)

    • the Muse

aw thanks ruth, it’s not something I typically do daily so it feels uncomfortable sometimes!

  • Michaela

Ah, I’d dearly love to try this, but shame they don’t even have it up on Ebay.
