Milani Instant Eye Makeup Remover Review

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

Milani Instant Eye Makeup Remover is my HG (holy grail) eye makeup remover of the moment. Actually the search for my HG eye makeup remover might be over!

I’m cheap. Not really but when it comes to makeup remover I am terribly cheap. I think nothing at all of splurging $50 on a blush but tell me to spend $27 on 4.2 oz of makeup remover and I start to sob like a baby, “Mommy it hurts so BAD!”

I think I have this mentality that I can buy a new eyeshadow palette or a lipstick and maybe a gloss with that near $30 price tag. Ouch!!!!!!!!!!

I typically buy Sephora’s Eye Makeup Remover which I like for $9.50 but look out Sephora, Milani Instant Eye Makeup Remover is on the case.

What’s to say?

You NEED it.

This is a bi-phase remover for whisking away mascara and eye makeup. It does the job (and does it well) on waterproof eye makeup easily and simply. The formula is oil, silicone, and fragrance-free.

Why I like it?

It doesn’t take a ton of effort to get my eye makeup remover off which is always great because no one wants to tug around that delicate area. You can saturate a cotton pad, press it on your eye, and it melts makeup off easily. With a little swipe, it’s all gone!

It does leave a little bit of an oily finish even though the formula is oil free but it’s not bad at all, merely feels conditioning, my dry eyes likey. Also, no trippy cloudy vision after use.

Milani shoots and scores with their new Instant Eye Makeup Remover! A 4oz size is a mere $5.99.

Problem?

It’s exclusive to Milani’s website but I have hopes they’ll release it in store soonish. If not, I’ll just buy four bottles at a time to justify shipping (although I placed four in my cart and shipping charges didn’t appear but I didn’t complete check out), it’s worth it.

Even if they don’t, I figure following Milani on Twitter and signing up for their newsletter will yield some sort of coupon for Free Shipping, etc…!

You NEED to try it.

Well worth picking it up.

Muse Approved.

Good to know. I have the NYX bi-phase right now, which I won in a contest. I won’t shop NYX, and I’m kinda cheap on my cleansers too, so I’ll keep this one in mind! Now to find a non-greasy “quick change” remover. MAC Pro is in my kit, but it stings me a little. I just tested Vichy’s and it’s gentler and works OK, but $16.50 does not sound good to me. Any suggestions?

I’m really glad that this is oil-free and doesn’t give you cloudy vision. Oh, and that it works well! 😉 Definitely need this!

  • GREG’S girl!!!

Thank you!! I’ve been using MAC!!! I will DEFINITELY try Milani!!!!

  • kimkats

Oooo…. a cheaper version of Clinique Take The Day Off??? Awesome! I love these bi-phase removers… they work a treat on all my makeup!

Thanks for the heads up. I still have half a bottle or so of TTDO, but I’ll keep an eye peeled (ouch!) in the stores for the Milani to appear!

i’m just like you.i’ll splurge on makeup but makeup remover? oh no way! believe it or not, i been using plain coconut oil as a makeup remover. comes right off and also moisturizes my eye area!

  • Becca @ The Beauty Sample

Do you know how this compares to the Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover, Muse? That’s the one I’ve been using for years. It’s cheap, it’s bi-phase, it’s oil-free, leaves a slight, slick residue, doesn’t cloud the vision….and it’s available in-stores! I will stick with this for now, but if the Milani one becomes available in-store, I am curious to try it now!

not sure becca, I remember trying a neutrogena one a while ago and not really liking it…can’t recall it being bi-phase though 🙁

Hmn… I don’t like Sephora one because it didn’t really remove my eye makeup. My favorite so far has been Lancome. I’m currently using MAC now which works well but it keeps taking out eyelashes. I might pick up Milani if it shows up at the drugstore. Any MAC users have tips on how to get it to not remove my eyelashes?

Have u ever tried target brand eye makeup remover? It’s awesome

    • the Muse

I have not will have to check it out caroline! thanks for the rec!

  • Crystal S

I need to try this. I am currently out of eye makeup remover and was not thrilled with any of my usual brands. Nice to know there is a good product that wont suck my wallet dry.

  • BooBooNinja

Awesome! I wonder how this compares to the Neutrogena bi-phase remover. I used to use that, but had to stop because it was irritating my eyes.

  • kimkats

Gah – need to think b4 I type! I mean all my EYE makeup! 🙂

    • the Muse

LOL phew ;-D I was scared you’d attempt to use it all over your face kim ;D!

  • Tiffany Martin

I’ve been looking for something that takes my mascara off. Most eye makeup removers seem to do a great job of taking off eyeliner and shadow but leave me with mascara to rub into my eyes while I sleep (no fair!). SO glad you reviewed and liked this one.

  • Stephanie

This has the exact same ingredients, description, and similar packaging as the Jordana one! Do you know if it’s the same thing?

  • amy

I use Lancome ATM, but yes, the price tag is *quite* hefty. Milani seems to be really stepping up their game, in general. I don’t typically like to order online, but since there are a few other Milani products that have caught my eye, I just may have to bite the bullet and give it a go.

    • the Muse

me too amy but can’t justify the price ouch! milani is actually the same quality ;-D

  • Avalith

I love the Sonia Kashuk Eye make up remover $10 for 4.75oz (which I prefer over Lancome’s Bifacil both in price/quantity ratio and performance.. I wonder if this is better?

  • Amy

You gotta try Avon eye make up remover. Seriously my fave and it is in sale for a buck right now. Ya one dollar, i now. how can you not try it right? Avon use to be a grandma company but there products are soo trendy and fun now, inexpensive and WORK miracles. The anew anti aging line is amazing. I use it and I am 24. Just found your blog and am thoroughly enjoying it 🙂 Get you some Avon i would love to see how you like it compared to these very expensive brands.

  • Saiba

I bought two of these recently and all I can say is wow! For the price and amount it’s an amazing product! 30secs, wipe, and ALL of my eye makeup disappears, even waterproof hard to remove mascara is gone. Loooove this so much. Wish they had this in stores though, can’t wait till they do. I found my HG indeed hehehe

  • Veritas

LOL! You think “oil free” actually means that it has absolutely no oil. Judging by your blog, I can safely say: the cosmetic companies sure know how to trick you! You should consider the fact that oily isn’t necessarily bad. Sebum our skin makes is oil and nobody is dying. Oils, like olive, jojoba, coconut, grapeseed, etc, can be very moisturizing in a good way without clogging pores or something similar. I know you might not post this, so I bid you: adieu!

  • Jackie

I am super cheap, have you ever just tried coconut or olive oil for a makeup remover? It never stings and is a great moisturizer! And even though it seems like it would break you out it actually doesn’t.
