NYX Bohemian Chic Bare to Go Natural Palette

I was walking around Harmons last week and came across the new NYX Bohemian Chic Bare to Go Natural Palette ($17.99).

Don’t worry, I was really good, I didn’t indulge.

Take a look!

I might have indulged if there weren’t so many mattes in this palette. The palette consists of 18 shadows, two blushes, and six darker liner/eyeshadow shades.

I found the shades a tad uneventful and thought the mismatch of navy blues as liner/shadow shades weren’t in keeping with the nude/natural theme of the palette.

Not sure on this one for myself.

What do you think?

It isn’t on the NYX site as of yet but if you have a Harmons around you can check there as that’s where I saw it.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I was so excited when I read the title for this post because I love my naturals, but I am not feeling this palette at all. Not one bit. The colors just seem…strange.

I actually really want this palette! I keep waiting for it to be in stock at ulta so I can buy it! I wish i had a harmons near me!

I’m all about nudes but these liners are just out of place in this palette. It’s on the Ulta site

Really, Muse and Hillary? I can see this being a natural matte eye with the teal-type colors as liner (cliche “pop” of color). But I am a matte eyeshadow lover… makes the best pinup looks 🙂

I actually like this palette, I already have a bunch of shimmery/frosted shadows and I like mattes better for defining and contouring the eyes. I’ve been looking for a nice matte palette. Hopefully they’ll have it on Cherry Culture or BeautyJoint or someplace that ships to Canada.

I really liked it when I saw the first pictures but I didn’t know there was a slide out tray with more colours. I do agree that those colours don’t quite feel in tune with the whole neutral theme, but I guess they wanted to offer more options, since it came out more or less at the same time as the Smokey by UD. The colours from the top tray remind me of their Champagne & Caviar palette mixed with the Butt Naked one, both I have and adore, so I guess I’ll be passing on this one.
P.S. That tester was beaten up hard! LOL

I’m a NYX fan and I usually love anything they come up with, but this palette isn’t doing it for me 🙁

Ooooo….see, I’m all over this one… I love mattes as long as they’re not chalky, and I like bright/loud eyeliner with a subdued look. It’s my one act of “rebellion” in a business where makeup has to be subdued…

Me likey! Now, if the friggin’ ULTA here would just open up… It was supposed to open in March, and they don’t even have anything inside it yet – tho they are working on it, which it didn’t appear they were for several months…

I agree that if you were looking at this palette from a neutral only stand point, the eyeliner shades would seem out of place, however, this is billed as a “Bohemian” neutral palette, and when I think of bohemian colors, those eyeliner shades fit.

And I’m intrigued by the number of matte shades, as you don’t often see mattes in palettes like this one.

The blushes look gorgeous, but the shadows look a little boring to me…

  • Becca @ The Beauty Sample

Hm…yeah, those blushes look super pretty–but you’re right about the shadows. They seem uninspired to me

I agree with the poster upthread who wished she lived near a Harmon’s.

Muse, I had never even heard of Harmon’s until I started following you. I’m jealous. 🙂 I have to hope that my local Ulta stocks this palette so I can get my hands on it before I decide.

Thanks so much for the post with awesome pics.

aw kate! wish you had one close by! Did you see my post about Bed, Bath and Beyond? sometimes they have a HUGE selection of makeup ;-D My pleasure <3!

I’ve got a lemming for this palette too. I think I might order it. I like a dark contrast liner with my matte nude looks and I was surprisingly pleased with the butt naked pallet. As much as I love high-end makeup nyx is so easy and affordable and for the most part the quality is really good. I think I need this one.

The deeper jewels could work well as liner, but I WILL try to wear teal liner with like everything…

  • Chives

I just saw it at my Ulta last night. Was really tempted because I love matte. Might go back for it. The shadows are very creamy, even the light colored ones.

I have and LOVE this palette!! I haven’t touched another eyeshadow or blush since I bought it last month! I love all the neutrals but I’m going crazy over the jewel toned shadows in the lower tray! A couple of them have just a whisper of sheen and look amazing on the eyes! They look great as liners, too. Can’t get over the smooth, buttery gorgeousness of this palette! If you love matte eyeshadows do NOT pass this up!!
