Skin Food Omija Whitening Complexion Cream Review & Swatches

Skin Food Omija Whitening Complexion Cream is one for the dull skin girls. No glow? Lackluster skin? That’s me. I’m always seeking new ways to brighten up skin.

My newest pick is most definitely Skin Food Omija Whitening Complexion Cream, I love this stuff!

Take a look!

This Whitening Complexion Cream is just one of several products that Skin Food offers in their Omija Collection. It is one of the only makeup pieces in the collection where as the rest are skincare products.

This contains an herbal extract for whitening, schisandra chinensis. Schisandra chinensis is used in Omija tea which supposedly promotes brightening and whitening. Skin Food claims there is a clinical skin lightening ingredient but I don’t technically know what that is nor does Skin Food actually mention it from my understanding?

This comes in a vanity worthy jar. It’s a white and pink with a silver topper, quite elegant with a little weight behind it to give it a more luxe look and feel. There’s an attached spatula for application.

The base comes in two shade selections one of which is a pink tint for lighter skin tones and one a yellow base for darker tones. Considering this is meant for Asian skin I wasn’t hesitate about going with the yellow shade however, after trying this I think I’d like to give the pink a whirl too!

This is a creamy, hydrating base that blends and absorbs easily. It brightens skin up, eases dullness, and evens out skin tone while creating a more “whiter” appearance. The whitening benefits are temporary and aren’t pasty in the least. It’s more of a brighter overall look.

After several weeks of use I didn’t feel it whitened my skin or treated dark spots however, it did ease dullness beautifully when worn under makeup but this was a temporary effect.

I think the nice thing about the cream is the fact it can be used in the place of foundation. A little of this, some blush, and gloss is the perfect fresh faced makeup look.

Overall, this isn’t a terribly new idea as many brands produce similiar cream bases in a variety of shades including lilac for whitening however, I thought this was one of the better ones. It successfully brightens skin, lends a little glow, has a beautiful texture and formula plus it’s very pleasing packaging wise. I think the “whitening” abilities are lacking here but perhaps with more use over time I’ll see results.

As a base it’s a win!

Great pick for dull skin.

Muse Approved for purchase.

Hello all, I was at Skinfood this week. I walked in and told the girl I wanted to buy some whitening products. This was one that she recommended. I bought the pink base one and I love it. My skin is super fair and using only a little under my foundation works great. I wish the whitening benefits lasted longer, but hey nothing is perfect. Muse, can you recommend something that will whiten my skin. Lately I have noticed my skin is a little redder and because of the sun my freckles are a little darker (although I am no Lindsey Lohan mind you). Thank you and a happy day to all.
