Skin Food Sugar Cookie Blush Review & Swatches
At a glance and a swatch Skin Food Sugar Cookie Blush is incredibly disappointing. Perhaps for a super fair skin tone but for me? No go.
I purchased it in Winter Cherry, proceeded to swatch it and was crushed that it barely showed up on my skin. I liked the color and was kinda hopeful it would prove a more pink version of Tarte Glisten but that swatch really slayed me.
Needless to say I tossed it on the side for a few days and almost didn’t bother trying it out.
Sure glad I finally reached for it!
It’s lovely!
This comes in a little cardboard compact. The top screws off and you’re left with a domed baked blusher.
I’m not really sure what to call the shade. Winter Cherry is kinda a delicate shade of glistening peachy pink but leans towards more pink than peach. It doesn’t have sparkly bits or glitter but it does have that glowing sheen finish that gives cheeks just the right amount of “I was just pinched and I’m glowing”.
It swatches horrible as you can see. It also applies very sheer and subtly. The good news is you can make this work.
I tried it with a smaller kabuki and was delighted with the results. The formula has a soft, silky feel without being chalky as some Asian blushes are known for. It blends easily and gives just the right amount of color and glow to cheeks for a more natural finish. I admit, I prefer my blush with more pop but if I’m doing a natural or “innocent” look I really enjoy this color. It creates a pink glistening glow on my cheeks that’s very pretty.
Someone with way fairer skin than my own will probably see an even better color pay off and finish.
Overall, Skin Food Sugar Cookie Blush in Winter Cherry has a few quirks in the color pay off department but with a little work you can easily get it to glow on your cheeks.
Likey.
Quite a nice shade. A little more pigmentation would earn it a spot on my HG (holy grail) blush list.
I had a friend in Korea purchase it for me but numerous sellers on E-bay offer it for a fairly reasonable, close to retail price. Just be careful when purchasing Korean or any Asian beauty products on Evil-bay!
