Too Faced Lash Injection Extreme Tubing Mascara Review

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

Too Faced Lash Injection Extreme Tubing Mascara ($21) is the brand’s revamp of their popular Lash Injection formula. I wasn’t particularly keen on the original Too Faced Lash Injection Mascara in all honesty but I’m always terribly curious when a brand relaunches a cult favorite in a new formulation.

I think for me Lash Injection fell into two groups, people who really loved it and others that didn’t get the happiness and joy from use. I fall into the “I don’t get it?” group.

However, being the junkie I am I decided to give their new formatted Lash Injection Extreme Tubing Mascara a whirl.

Let’s take a look!

Too Faced Lash Injection Extreme Tubing Mascara is a tubing mascara that builds around your own lashes. It’s not a fiber mascara, tubes are quite different in my opinion and far more comfortable and forgiving to apply and wear without feeling like you have a lash in your eye.

Tubing also seems to have a knack for staying in place without smearing or flaking but still managing to easily wash away with warm water. The mascara is a formula that contains elastic polymer which adheres and surrounds lashes to fortify and strengthen them while adding volume and length.

This comes with a traditional bushy brush for application with stuff bristles (not plastic ones). It’s a very basic applicator which I’m grateful for as nowadays it seems more and more brands embrace a tad too much crazy with their applicators, depending on these applicators to do the magic where as the formula is what suffers.

A single application produces fluttery lashes with a light texture that leaves lashes soft not stiff. I see decent length here and lashes look fuller but the overall lash look isn’t volumized. I get more of a separated effect to my lashes which in turn produces a doll-like appearance.

It does have a rather strong scent to it during application but it doesn’t linger. It’s kinda an inky chemical smell.

Speaking of inky, the pigmentation is excellent here as it gives lashes a nice, dark black tint. It holds curl quite well too.

Overall, I find it makes a rather nice base for other mascaras. It does the work of pulling lashes up and out and lays the ground to add more volume when used in conjunction with another mascara of your choice. I like using this first followed up with a little Mega Plush or Illegal Lengths. This gives me longer and fuller lashes with application of both products however, it would be nice if Lash Injection took care of both jobs.

Alone, it does fall a little flat and doesn’t exactly live up to it’s name. “Extreme, Injection” does evoke images of more dramatic lashes than Too Faced Lash Injection Mascara actually produces.

It’s available now at Sephora, Sephora.com and toofacedcosmetics.com

Yeah I didn’t like the original Lash Injection either. I don’t know if I got a wonky one, but the formula was SO incredibly dry, I felt like it coated my lashes with nothing. And I didn’t experience any tubing effect…probably because there wasn’t enough product on my lashes no matter how many times I swiped it

I was quite a fan of the original one, so… I’d like to try this one also. In a far future because I’ve got some mascaras to test right now (and I’m loving the one in use at the moment, despite the fact it’s a low cost one! It’s from Essence…)

I like this mascara. I did notice it had a chemical smell to it and the old one’s didn’t really. For me it doesn’t flake or smudge. And it is easy to remove. It makes my eyelashes look dark (which makes it seem like I have a lot) and so long. If I wear this I have to be careful of my lashes pushing up against the lenses of my glasses.

I’m just not a fan of too faced mascaras, they always seem a bit clumpy and flake throughout the day, my absolute fave is Fresh Supernova mascara!! Muse have you tried that before??

I’d have to say its my fave, the formula is just completely amazing, it leaves my lashes fluffy and soooo buildable it get my lashes to my liking without anything clumping! It holds my curl, does not feel crunchy and flaky :O) Its a glossy black finish which i LOVE 🙂 The formula actually helps condition lashes as well which is just a complete plus and the best part is that its alcohol free!

I am a lover of tube mascaras, not too faced though. Other than their eye shadow pigmentation, i haven’t been impressed. I personally cannot live without Clinique’s lash power mascara 🙂

Is Clinique’s a tube mascara? And what tube mascaras would you recommend? Thank you.

I wanted to love this mascara but I just can’t figure out how to get good results with it. I fail.
