YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Illuminating Foundation

Bet you’re excited about YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat Illuminating Foundation SPF 19 aren’t you?

YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Illuminating Foundation is inspired by YSL’s best selling cult favorite, Touche Éclat. Don’t panic, but, I’ve never actually been a big Touche Éclat fan girl, I’m mot a Dior Booster Pen.

However, I have tried it, I do own it, and I reach for it from time to time and I generally like the idea of this formula in a foundation. Touche Éclat is creamy and really does diminish darkness so perhaps Le Teint Touche Eclat Illuminating Foundation will prove just as brilliant.

Take a look!

YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Illuminating Foundation ($55) promises a weightless, illuminating formula. Ok, stop. Illuminating. That’s the secret word.

Obviously I have a fuller face with chubby cheeks so I try hard to avoid “illuminating” finishes but Touche Éclat is described in a similiar fashion and really it isn’t illuminating at all.

The foundation targets shadowy areas and highlights the contours of your face. It promises a lightweight finish that enhances your own skin tone.

It sounds lovely and I can see myself wanting to try this one however, if it contains sparkle, shimmer, or a glowy finish I might have to avoid le sigh! Crossing fingers it doesn’t!

Available in 16 shades at Sephora.com now.

    Hi Muse,

I tried it the other day, but the incompetent sales associate insisted that I take home a sample of a really dark shade that I knew just wouldn’t work for me, so I couldn’t test its wear time or wear it out (I look like I baked in the sun all day, and I’m actually really really fair…).

Anyway, there was no shimmer that I could detect. It does have a slightly dewier, luminous look to it that can easily be toned down with powder. I felt that it was just a bit tackier feeling on my skin, but I tend to love silkier finishes. I’d say the coverage is definitely light to medium. It layers pretty well, but again, the shade was too dark for me, so it got pretty obvious I was wearing foundation. I also found that it allows for your natural undertones to show through, so people might find they can wear a couple shades without it looking too obvious. I hope that helps!

Tried it the other day in store in the UK. I also had a fairly incompetent sales assistant so was unconvinced she was matching well but even making allowances I wasn’t impressed. It was applied on skin that had had primer and foundation previously applied about 10 hours earlier, so not a wholly fair test, but it didn’t give good coverage and oxidized like mad within an hour or so giving a very patchy look. Not for me. Not keen on the smell either.

I have to say, as a beauty counter vet, when I hear more than one people talk about bad foundation matches with the same makeup at more than one location, I start to worry about the possibility that the matches are bad because the foundation’s shade range is bad. Perhaps the counter artists can’t really make a good match because the shades aren’t quite right for anyone.

I will probably check this out myself, the idea of a non-shimmery, non-pearly, but “dewy” finish really appeals to me and my dry skin, especially going into winter. However, I know the TE “concealer” isn’t really a concealer at all, it’s a luminizer without much coverage at all. If the foundation follows suit, it’ll definitely be a deal-breaker for me!

I just bought this today. My skin has been reacting poorly to the new continent I’m on (even though the climate is basically exactly the same) so I had to stop wearing my Bare Minerals. I went to Matas (the Danish personal care store) and got my face done, after telling her my skin issues.

I have fairly full cheeks as well, and like to use Chanel Soleil du Tan to contour. When the woman in the store put this on me, it was like I was looking at my skin at its healthiest. It was radiant, and smooth, and blended seamlessly with my skin. It didn’t illuminate the bad parts, rather it make my face as it was look amazing. Then she went under my eyes with Touche Eclat and I was sold.
