Bare Minerals Stroke of Light Eye Brightener Review & Swatches

Bare Minerals Stroke of Light Eye Brightener ($22) is a newly launched eye brightener for giving you a wide-awake look. Don’t confuse this one as a concealer as it works best, in my experience, in conjunction with your concealer of choice.

Available in four shades the multi-benefit formula contains peptides to diminish the appearance of fine lines as it brightens.

Take a look!

If you’re interested in Bare Minerals Stroke of Light Eye Brightener don’t head into the purchase believing these are a concealer as they are not. The product is quite sheer and should work well for those with very little to cover however, those of us who rely on a concealer to cover dark circles, puffiness, fine lines, etc…will not be able to use it as a stand alone product.

Now I like it but I dislike having to put even more “stuff” under my eyes. I’m already doing eye cream, concealer, and powder so this is an extra step in my regime but it could prove worthy for those who suffer from tired eyes or just need something to brighten up their eye area. I don’t mind the extra step so much since the product is quite well done.

I was a little scared at the use of “brightener” as I expected this to be iridescent, sparkly, or glittery. Thankfully it does not have any sparkle to it at all. It does contain a variety of minerals such as jade, pearl, sapphire, amethyst, etc…..which brightens eyes and diffuses the look of dark circles giving you more of a fresher, awake look versus a tired, fatigued one.

The brightener is a thinner texture with a super creamy easy to blend moisturizing formula that glides under eyes without pulling or tugging. It really has a lovely feel and translates well under drier eyes without creasing into finer lines or adding an extra weight to your completed look. As I mentioned above these run sheer so you aren’t going to conceal anything with these. Apply your concealer as usual and add a little Stroke of Light directly under your eyes in on the inside corners. Done! It adds instant light under eyes.

I do wish I could take advantage of these as a concealer of sorts as the formula is positively heavenly but they are a tad too sheer for my issues. Overall, Bare Minerals Stroke of Light Eye Brightener is well worth picking up for those who need a little more brightening power than there concealer gives them. Or for those with more youthful eyes who need a little touch of concealing with added brightness to give eyes a wider awake, fresher look.

Likey!

The problem for me is that I love, love. love the loose product called well-rested for my under eye area. (not to mention for my tear-duct socket area, and as an all over lid base)

So I fear that a liquid luminizer under a powder product would backfire.

But I reserve the right to change my mind and buy it, especially if it is presented on a QVC show!

I picked up #4 last week from Ulta. I ran out of my Bobbi Brown concealer and decided to give it a ago. So far I’m liking it. I’ve been using it on it’s own under my eyes. Very easy to blend. I do want to try the new concealers that they recently launched as well. I may actually go by the counter to check those out.

These look really nice, I may try them eventually. Right now I’m playing with the Sephora under eye primer and the IT bye bye.

I though they might be too sheer to replace my concealer… Bummer. I tried their new creamy concealer during the preview sale event, but had to return it. It was a bit too liquidy (pardon the made-up word) and settled so badly into fine lines I just couldn’t wear it in public. The coverage was good, pretty much perfect color match (the best color match I’ve ever found in a concealer – Light 2), but within an hour it creased like crazy (I’m not 20 anymore, I do have lines and not the tightest of skins under my eyes) despite topping it off with powder (without powder it creased within minutes). When I used it on my cheeks to cover some redness, it broke me out :(. So as much as I’ve been waiting for it and how much I wanted to love it, I had to return it.

I’ve been testing them this week aida…! no opinion yet though ;-D need another day or two. sorry to hear it le sigh! that stinks 🙁 these are sadly too sheer to use as concealer but work great on top of concealer!

I actually work for BE and they now have Well Rested in liquid/creme pen. It works wonderfully!

I tried this at sephora and at the end of the day my under eye area looked really good! I might go and buy it!! Not cakey and saw no creasing!
