Bobbi Brown Desert Twilight Lipgloss Review & Swatches

Bobbi has released four shades of lipgloss with her Desert Twilight Collection for Fall 2012. I was a little worried about these shades as they looked kinda brownie-like which isn’t always a great look for me.

After trying them out I was quite surprised how delighted I was with them. They are quite nice nude shades so please don’t overlook them your next trip to your fav counter. There are some fairly nice nude shades here for Fall!

Take a look!

The collection consists of four limited edition shades in Bobbi’s standard gloss formula and one high shimmer gloss. Yay shimmer!

Bobbi Brown Lipgloss has a sponge tip applicator and a medium texture formula with a nice glint of shine. They aren’t overly glossy and do not have a ton of tack or stick but still manage to have a fairly good wear time with a lightweight feel.

The shades all have a nice skin enhancing tone that give lips a nice natural look without looking over done. Bobbi was inspired by dusk in the desert when she created this collection and indeed this shades give you that feeling. The warmer nude browns and the splash of rosy purple are much like the end of a long, warm day when the sun has set.

Evening Rose

Bronzed Heather

Sadly, I don’t think you can see the difference in the shades in my lip swatches. I realize I’m not terribly good at doing these. However, hopefully my arm swatches come across better and you can see the difference in the shades.

These are shades I’d have easily overlooked but I’m glad I gave them a go. They are nice natural colors that look very elegant and pretty on my lips. Even Evening Rose which has elements of purple to it came across quite nice on my lips (it’s the most pigmented of the four colors).

Bronzed Heather, Evening Rose, Honeysuckle, Twilight

Do check these out.

I’m going to Muse Approved them for purchase as there are some unique shades here and all of them are gems!

Have the bronzed heather and love it. These have to be my favorite glosses! I love them since she redid them.

I kinda sorta miss the lip brush though suzi, you?

You look lovely in all of them, Muse!! I love the Bronzed Heather and Twilight the most, though. Thank you!

    • 8/2/12 9:31 the Muse:

I got the twilight and am trying to convince myself that I DON’T need the other colors. LOL I really like it a lot!

    • 8/2/12 9:30 the Muse:

I can see the difference in the lip swatches though the colors are personally too shimmery for me. Maybe it would help if you did close-ups of your lips?

    • 8/2/12 9:27 the Muse:

I’m glad to hear that. close up shots are kinda a bust. I live in an older Victorian house and the lighting is just way bad to get a good image. blah!

  • 8/2/12 0:20 Liz:

I think Bronzed Heather is going to have to come home with me.

I peeped these when I went to get the Turquoise nail polish and the new gel liner. They are all so pretty and I couldn’t decide on which one (or possibly two) that I wanted. Of course I want all 4! *head palm*

    • 8/2/12 9:20 the Muse:

LOL jen! awesome they are so worth imho!

  • 8/2/12 8:54 Julie:

Evening Rose looks beautiful on you!

    • 8/2/12 9:08 the Muse:

      aw thanks julie!

  • 8/5/12 11:40 Lauren:

I ended up getting Naked Plum to go with my Desert Twilight collection! Evening Rose was too purple (made me look cold) and the others washed me out a little, even over the Pink Truffle lip/cheek cream. They’re so pretty on you, Muse, that it makes me want to go take another look at them…

lauren do sneak another peek! I thought that evening rose was awful but it turned out quite nice ;-D
