BRTC Pore Magic Primer Review

I was gifted this item by a friend, brand, or family member.

BRTC Pore Magic Primer was gifted to me by a friend who was quite exhausted listening to me whine about the evils of silicone primer.

Granted, it is a silicone primer but she told me it was magical and I’d feel so much better about silicones after using it.

Hmm did that happen?

Why yes, it did.

I’m not a fond fan of silicone primers. I have no need of them having drier skin and prefer more hydrating primers. However, I can’t deny they do a fine job of blurring the pores on my nose as well as creating a VERY good barrier between my skin and foundation preventing it from wearing away and/or oxidizing during wear.

This comes in a tiny jar just like my beloved Clarins Instant Smooth. The texture is considerably lighter than Instant Smooth or L’Oreal’s Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base. It also has less of a powder-y feel and an easier glide across skin. I like it because it doesn’t make me want to itch myself to death as I’ve had this experience with products like Smashbox Photofinish Primer.

It mattifies skin a little bit but if you have super oily skin it probably won’t do the trick. I find it creates a nice soft focus on skin that creates a smoother finish overall. I like the barrier it creates between my skin and BB Cream or foundation. This allows my base to remain fresher for longer periods of time since it isn’t touching my skin directly but laying on time of the Pore Magic Primer.

I don’t have larger pores on my face however on my nose I do have visible pores which I use this to conceal. It does an ok job of blurring the appearance of pores but I imagine if you have larger pores you might need something a little better to tackle the issue.

Overall, BRTC Pore Magic Primer is a perfect little product for me and my drier skin. It’s a great prep for makeup and gives the benefits of a silicone primer without being overwhelming, itchy, or uncomfortable to wear. It also extends the wear of my foundation/bb cream by at least two hours which is a plus.

I like this stuff a lot.

On the downside, why doesn’t it come with a spatula? Very unusual for an Asian brand!

It was gifted to me by a friend but BRTC is available on E-bay as well as online shops just be careful where you purchase from.

I’d recommend trying it out!

Silicone primers make you itch? I’m so sorry!!!!!! 🙁 I’ve used a number of primers and I am liking the Missha boomer right now, in Arizona it’s light enough in the summer and I am in love with the slight shimmer it provides. I don’t like the Loreal primer at all since I felt like it had very little glide over the skin. Our dry skin doesn’t need that (que the ‘ain’t nobody got time for that’ video). This product looks awesome though, I’d try to find and buy this item but I have far too much primer still.

I’m currently using a pore minimizing serum by Clinique before I put my make-up on, but in all honestly, it’s not doing much… Maybe I should give this one a try. I have a thing for Asian brands anyway.

Morning Muse, I’m curious about this, is it like a hard paste or a cream?

I have large pores which seem to get larger as i get older so this is a very important topic for me. I have tried several Pore concealer/minimizer primers including various Smashbox primers, Loreal Studio Secrets, just to name a couple. The best I have tried by far has been POREfessional by Benifit. I also tried Pores No More by Dr Brandt which was good and I was satisified with it until I came across POREfessional ( Ulta was running a promo). I found POREfessional to have a bit more pore coveragage than Pores No More and it happens to be less expensive which was an added bonus.
