Clinique Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector Review
Clinique has extended their Even Better Collection with a new Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector.
Clinique Even Better Eyes Dark Corrector ($39.50) acts as a pigmented eye cream/treatment to diffuse the look and appearance of dark circles while refreshing eyes with ingredients like caffeine (excellent for puffiness) and Green Tea Extract.
Let’s take a look!
This is a tinted, lightweight eye cream that would be best suited to AM use. If you have drier eyes you’ll probably want to bring out the big guns for PM moisture as I wouldn’t necessarily rely on this for nightly use. On top of the fact it only lightly hydrates, it’s also tinted so again, it defeats the purpose of using it in the evening.
The tint is a light flesh color which didn’t really effect my dark circles or conceal them. Don’t rely on Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector to conceal your dark circles because it simply won’t work this way.
It actually relies on pigments in the tint to provide the brightening effect. Mica and titanium dioxide among other ingredients create a brightening, shine effect that will diffuse the appearance of dark circles not treat them. This blend of optics capture light and create a brighter look so your dark circles will appear lessened.
Although it lacks anything that will actually treat your dark circles it does contain a good deal of anti-aging ingredients that help to prevent the breakdown of natural collagen while strengthening the delicate skin tissue under your eyes.
The formula is a lightweight, fast absorbing cream that can be applied using the cooling slanted applicator. The metal tip feels very cool to the touch and can massage away puffiness as you apply. I do have to pat after I’ve massaged though to get good even coverage.
Overall, Clinique Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector can easily be confused as a “treatment” product due to the name. It isn’t going to rid you of dark circles merely diffuse the look of them. It didn’t actually work for me in this fashion and I felt concealer did a far better job to brighten up and conceal my under eye woe. It does make an excellent AM eye cream with solid anti-aging ingredients though. If you’re younger and in need of a lot less concealer than myself you might feel it works great as a way to freshen eyes up.
