MAC By Request Lipglass Review & Swatches
As you know the MAC By Request Collection includes three shades of limited edition Lipglass that were voted back by fans (on Facebook).
These shades I can definately get on board with. I was a little meh on the eye shadows from the collection but I am feeling the love for the Lipglasses.
Take a look!
Bait, Cult of Cherry, Flash of Flesh
Bait is actually a shade I’ve read and heard so many things about. I want to say it’s in my collection already but I don’t believe it is. It’s a shade I recall hauling for a friend for some reason so it might have been part of the Sweetie Cake Collection but I sincerely think I’m wrong about that. Either way this is a nice nude of light pink with a golden shimmer. I can’t pull the shade off but a little lip stain under it makes it pop for me.
Much to my delight Cult of Cherry is back. This is a true shade of blue based red. I typically can’t wear truer shades of red without looking clown-like but for some reason Cult of Cherry has always been rather easy to pull off even though it lacks the warmth I typically go for in my reds.
And finally my favorite of the bunch, Flash of Flesh which is a pink coppery shade (almost duochrome-like). I like how this reflects a range of shades on lips including light copper, beige, pink, and peach. It’s quite an interesting color with nice depth.
These are all the traditional MAC thicker Lipglass formula which has sticky, tacky feel. I’ve come to terms with the tackiness to be honest as it’s one of the features that allows MAC gloss to wear so long and strong. The tacky feel adheres well to lips and allows five hours, at the least, of wear time.
Although I liked the shades I still left this review scratching my head as I can think any number of shades that are far more special to garner a return (Pink Grapefruit please?).
