Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Partners with Katie Holmes as Brand’s First-Ever Celebrity Face

Confirmation this morning my earlier news about Katie Holmes teaming up with Bobbi Brown.

Today, Thursday, September 6th, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics proudly announced that American actress Katie Holmes has partnered with Bobbi Brown Cosmetics as the brands first-ever celebrity face.

“Katie Holmes epitomizes the modern ‘Bobbi woman… I think of her as the modern day Ali McGraw, who I have always admired,” says Bobbi Brown, “Katie is a classic natural beauty, entrepreneur, and mother. When I met her, I thought she was a natural fit for my brand, and felt an instant connection with her.”

“Bobbi is exceptional and Bobbi Brown Cosmetics is a company that we, as women, all turn to because it is makeup that is very accessible and makes you feel pretty,” says Holmes, “Sometimes it is just a lipstick or a blush that makes you feel like you can do what you need to do. Makeup is powerful and I am thrilled to be a part of this brand.”

More info after the jump!

The first iteration of the partnership will appear in Spring 2013 print ads, light boxes, on-counter and with supporting editorial features. Additionally, Bobbi will be the lead makeup artist at the Spring/Summer 2013 Holmes & Yang Fashion Show, the eponymous line founded by Katie Holmes and celebrity stylist Jeanne Yang.

“This is a very exciting time for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, and we are thrilled to be embarking on this new partnership with Katie, whose influence spans the globe,” says Maureen Case, President of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, “We are confident that this partnership will raise the brands profile with strong, smart, powerful women, while also introducing the brand and its compelling ethos to new consumers.”

I’m VERY happy about this.

Being a long time Bobbi Brown fan I think this takes the brand in a new and exiting direction. I’m looking forward to seeing inspirational looks and collections featuring Katie.

I think Katie is a perfect fit for Bobbi Brown cosmetics. I don’t own many of BB’s items but I’ll definitely be checking out the spring/summer collections.

How funny! I just started watching Dawson’s Creek on netflix. I was only 10 when the show started so I obviously didn’t really get what it was really all about. As I’ve been watching it, I’ve been taking notes on Joey’s very clean, simple, yet beautiful makeup. I thought to myself, “This is the epitome of the Bobbi Brown movement of the ’90s.” Brown toned lips (which look more amazing on her than anyone I’ve ever seen), subtle contour and soft liner. I find it so ironic to read this on your blog today! I’m very excited about this collaboration as well!

Eh, I’m not personally a Katie fan. I mean, couldn’t they get Kate Middleton? She wears mostly BB, and I’m SURE she’d be available to do it. hahahaha.

Oh, puh-lease. They wouldn’t be picking her unless she wasn’t the former Mrs. Tom Cruise. Her fashion line is a joke and Katie couldn’t put an outfit together if her life depended on it. While I think she has the more natural look for the line, she’ll have to be heavily styled for it.

harsh susan, I think she’s quite successful sans Tom Cruise. Powerful women def don’t need a man behind them to be powerful 🙂 I have to disagree chica, I think she’s a beautifully stylish women and I look forward to her promos with Bobbi.

I absolutely agree, Muse! If anything, I think she is more successful on her own than held back by Mr. Cruse’s shenanegans. I think she’s gorgeous as well and a perfect fit for the company. – She could almost pass for Bobbi’s daughter, no?

yeah kinda sandi! ;-D although about three times bigger hehe! Bobbi is SO damn petite! she’s like under 5 feet ;D!

I’m excited. She is a beautiful woman and while I don’t pretend to believe that she is anywhere like the average woman (the average woman wouldn’t be offered a make-up line or married to Tom Cruise), I think she’ll do great.

And lets remember too, Katie left Tom, not the other way around… with a young daughter no less. That takes some cahones- especially with all this nonsense surrounding Cruise and Church of Scientology. I think the average woman would have left him sooner- when he told Katie that she would have to change her first name because Katie is a little girl name. Really Tom? GO Katie!

I have nothing against Katie, but I am disappointed that BB made the decision to go with any one face for the brand. One of the reasons I love and admire BB and her cosmetic line is that her philosophy is that all women are beautiful, every skintone and ethnicity, every age. To have one type of beauty represent the line is just disappointing to me (a very washed-out without makeup fair-skinned blonde.)

I think this is great. She pulls off brown/red lipsticks amazingly well and fits the brand’s vibe.

  • Sandi

Does any of the promotional material say which lipstick/gloss she is wearing here? So pretty!

I was disappointed when I heard the news that Katie would be the first celeb face for the brand. I really wish they didn’t have a celeb at all. I like sticking with models most of which I have no idea who they are. Also I’m not a fan of Katie. She can’t act. She is more known for her marriage than her talent.

She looks lovely in the photo but does anyone else think the pose is a bit awkward and stiff? Oh well, I’m sure there’s more to come.
