Dior Rouge Dior Nude Review, Swatches, Photos

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

Rouge Dior Nude Lip Blush ($32) is a newly launched six shade selection of semi-sheer finish lipsticks with a hybrid formula that acts as a tinted balm, tinted lip color, and hydrating treat for lips.

If you’re looking for a lighter lipstick that enhances the look of your lips natural lip color while adding a dash of color I’m sure you’re going to adore Rouge Dior Nude Lip Blush!

Take a look!

Rouge Dior Nude’s marketing is such a wonderful vision as they describe lipstick as a highlighting blush for lips. Indeed, this is what Dior Rouge Dior Nude is all about. It takes the simplicity of your own natural lip color and enhances it, adding just the right touches of nude, rose, and even berry to lips.

This is a semi-sheer lip product that adds a touch of color in a hydrating formula that keeps lips feeling smooth and moist through the wear. For me it comes across as a hybrid product that acts as a lip balm and a tint for lips. Of course, that tint is a step above what you’d get from a mere balm as Rouge Dior Nude will produce sheer to medium coverage depending on how much you apply and how deep a shade you choose from the ten color selection.

As much as I love a beautiful bold lipstick, I do admit I feel like I’ve spent much of my makeup life searching out that perfect shade of my lips but better lip color. It’s such a rarity I run across shades that fit that description. Sometimes you desire a color that looks so simple it could indeed be dubbed your own natural lip color. This is the shade that will work incredible with a dramatic eye look and just as nicely with a subdued nude, natural face. Rouge Dior Nude’s shade selection all offers the MLBB (my lips but better) lip experience.

Grege, Indiscrete, Swan, Charnelle, and Esquisse

Indiscrete

Esquisse

Charnelle

Do prepare yourself for the texture of these as I believe some will find it a little heavy. It is balmy feeling for lack of a better description and lacks any shine or glossiness although it does glide on with a buttery feel. They are cream in finish but thankfully lack the drying I commonly associate with such a finish. The colors all gravitate towards nude, natural shades however, you will come across one or two with a bit of pop such as Esquisse which is a lovely warm berry.

Overall, Dior Nude’s formula adds a touch of tint to enhance your lip color. They prove the perfect little lipstick for those who only enjoy adding the very barest, subtlest of color to touch their lips. I really liked this formula and particularly liked the shade selection. They are very worth looking at on counter. Swatch them, play a little, I think you’ll love them as much as I do.

Can I ask…which of these was the closest to your actual lip color? I love the way Charnelle, Indiscrete and Grege look, but I’m curious as to which one is actually the closest.

Did any of them lighten your lip color?

  • Holly

I have been waiting for this collection!!! For these lipsticks & more. So this means the whole collection out then? Have you picked up anything else Muse? I really want to try the Nude Glow Powder!!!

    • the Muse

I haven’t holly, I got these samples but haven’t gotten my hands on the palette yet or anything like that 🙂

  • Tammie

Oh darnit Muse! I had seen these but I thought they were just Rouge Diors in nude colors…now I have to check them out and probably get the pink one tonight when I go to Nordstrom, they are RIGHT up my alley :X

  • LINDARRAGNAR

oh I love these!!! Especially Indiscrete and Swan!! But the price is too high LOL 🙁

  • Monica

    Hey Muse,

Oh wow, charnelle and swan look amazing!
What are you wearing as eyeshadow?
(and btw, I would love a closer look at that stash in the background =D)

    • the Muse

aw thanks monica, it’s gold shimmer, one of the new Maybelline 24 HR Color Tattoo Eyeshadows. ha…that wasn’t suppose to pop up in the pic lol good eye!

  • Cassie

Besides the fact that these make your lips look like gloriously smooth butter, Charnelle is definitely your color, Muse!! It looks gorgeous on you!

  • Tiffany

They’re so pretty on you, Muse! If I ever have money to blow, I’m definitely buying these

  • ladymoonlight

They look very glossy in the pictures! I need to have a look at these beauties!

  • Majick

THese are beautiful but Dior gives me “rough” lips. Some lippies just don’t work for me. Sad…;-(

  • Grace Llenado

    Hi Muse,

How does this product compare to the YSL Sheer Volupte lipstick (also sheer and hydrating) or the Chanel rouge coco shine lipsticks?

    Thanks.

    • the Muse

hi grace I never tried ysl sheer sorry. Chanel Rouge Coco is slicker, shiner, and more hydrating. These are balm-like in texture, not shine (any glossiness you see here was clear gloss I applied on top), and cream in finish.

  • Deb

They’re all beautiful on you! I’m afraid I’d have to choose more than one myself 🙂

  • Liz

I love these, particularly Exquisse. I dislike a thick and cakey looking lipstick.

How did Swan look on you? Also, are they perfumey?

  • Linda

They all look nice on you! I didn’t care for the texture of these. Too slippery. I felt like they bleed past my lip line even with liner. Really like the color Esquisse. It was similar to my Chanel Destinee and GA sheer 49

    • the Muse

really linda? I didn’t get the slicker feel, it was more balmy on me! thank you <3!

  • Cookie

That Charnelle looks quite lovely on you — it has a nice effect on your eyes. Although, there is a definite sparkle while you’re wearing Esquisse. I don’t own a Dior anything but Grege is calling to me!

  • Jen_m_sunshine

Muse, only place I can find Wild is saks and I refuse to purchase from that store! Nordstrom is sold out online. Are any of these or Incognito from Addict formula a close dupe?
    Thanks@

    • the Muse

how about bloomies jen!? mmm not sure to be honest….I can’t really think of a dupe for this one hun!

  • Amy

I love Indiscrete but almost all nudes go pink on my lips..hopefully this will stay true nude. Going to pick it up today. Thanks for your fabulous reviews….you are a girls best friend.

    • the Muse

love all the shades in this post nawi ;-D can’t just pick one! 🙂

  • Angela M

Those look lovely. Are there any dupes for them? (Preferably ones I can get from the US).
