Diorific Vernis Dior Holiday 2012 Grand Bal Collection

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

Dior Grand Bal for Holiday 2012 is a grand selection embracing the traditional gold for Christmas with red lips and tips. With the Holidays we always expect an array of ultra beautiful gift sets and wonderful pieces of luxurious makeup to get us in the spirit of the season.

Dior embraces luxurious to the max with their Diorific Vernis ($26), a selection of four limited edition nail polishes in gold ornament-like packaging for the Holidays.

These shiny, bright little baubles quite remind me of an elegant Christmas ornament. The classic round design and beautiful gold lame topper reek elegance and sophistication. Who thought nail polish could be so luxurious?

Diorling embraces the true spirit of a golden shimmering Christmas. This is a brassy gold shade with bursts of dazzling gold! Lady is the perfect snow-y pearl white shade that brings to mind a crisp, snowy landscape.

I’m not much of a nail girl myself but I’m terribly excited about this packaging, it’s just stunning. Would it be terribly strange if I wrapped a red ribbon around them and just hung them from my tree?

These stunning creations will be available at dior.com soon as well as your favorite counters with the launch of the Dior Holiday 2012 Collection.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. These are so beautiful! I want the red one (Marylin, I think) for myself and they’d make great little stocking stuffers!
Generous size too – I just happen to have a regular Dior Vernis on my desk right now and had a look, they’re 10 ml.

….I’m not sure I ever wanted something because of the packaging, before now. Can I steal them from your Christmas tree? I’ll pay shipping!

I’ll have to see some on-nail swatches before I’ll buy ’em though.

Aaaah Dior is killing me with these! How are you supposed to resist THIS?! I know I’ll need AT LEAST one of them. The black one seems nice but the white here is really cute, very White Snow.

As soon as I saw the promo pics for these, I fell in love with the packaging. I don’t think I can justify picking up any of the colors at that price…they’re not just shades I’d wear often. AND I’ve already got a gold Dior polish… 🙁

Boring sensible question, but are they difficult to apply because of the rounded handle? I love the design and will probably indulge just because I want them as objects but am a wee bit concerned that they’ll be a pain to apply.

I nearly fell over when..in JULY!! at a local store I frequent (PX, a small “have a bit of everything” store where military members and their family members can shop) brought out a huge palette stacked four feet high of what I’ve noted to be their three standard Yankee Candle Christmas candle scents (Sparkling Cinnamon, Christmas Cookie and a pine/balsam/wreath scents, I forget which one specifically). Then yesterday I saw they had out Philosophy gift sets.

I swear I now believe what my mom used to harp on, that stores and companies keep trying to press Christmas earlier and earlier. Yankee Candle was even featuring their Winter 2012 scents briefly back in July which is when they roll out their fall fragrances.

PS- You look lovely and your blog is an inspiration for me to get with it and start blogging with frequency, as I’ve been intending to for years now!

Gah, so cute! I almost want them just for the Christmas tree ornament packaging. Not sure I’m sold on the colors~ I’d be all over it if there was a plum shade, though!
