E.L.F. Studio Flawless Concealer Brush Review

The new E.L.F. Studio Flawless Concealer Brush ($3) might be a tempting budget pick if you just aren’t interested in ponying up the cash for the Sephora Pro Airbrush Concealer Brush ($24).

But how similar are they?

Being a HUGE fan of the E.L.F. Studio Concealer Brush I was eager to check out the Flawless Concealer Brush in the hopes it too would make my HG (holy grail list).

E.L.F.’s Studio Flawless Concealer Brush uses the same technique as Sephora’s more expensive brush by producing an airbrush effected when applying liquid or powder concealer.

The brush has a rounded bristle shape that fits the contour of smaller areas on your face and allows you to buff concealer into spots that need it. The bristles are soft however, once concealer is applied they seem to get a bit coarse and rougher.

I don’t typically use concealer on my face but I would suggest this brush for concealing smaller problem areas on your face rather than under eyes. Where as the Sephora brush produces a fantastic airbrushed effect under eyes sadly E.L.F.’s version failed. It didn’t do a very good job of buffing product in and ended up giving a streaky, patchy finish to my concealer under my eyes. This ended up producing an uneven layer of concealer with a less than smooth, dry finish.

I decided to give it a try on my face and it seemed, when given a bigger space to work on, it buffed concealer in very well and produced the smoother finish I was hoping for under my eyes.

Moral of the story?

Grab Sephora’s $24 dollar brush for flawless under eye coverage and use the E.L.F. version on your face. Or better yet just apply the $3 you’re going to spend on the E.L.F. Brush to the Sephora one.

Believe me, Sephora’s one is worth it.

Quality ok overall with bristles, no issues with shedding, but application just didn’t produce the effect I was hoping for.

Tried it?

can’t speak to the ELF but will say the Sephora airbrush concealer brush is A+ Numero uno… bomb diddy! Just gave one to my daughter last week and she said that she is now spoiled! A must have in any gals brush collection.

THANK YOU for doing this review. I’ve been wondering how they compare. I’m off to get the sephora one!

I don’t have any input on the ELF one, but the Sephora Pro Platinum Airbrush Concealer brush was on sale at my local Sephora-in-JCPenney store. I think they’re revamping the look of them, so they’re clearancing quite a few of them. I picked one up, since it was reduced to $15.

I love the Sephora one. This one just doesn’t look like it’s up to matching the Sephora. Thanks for the review of it, because some of the elf brushes are nice.

def agreed, some elf ones are well worth it but sadly this was kinda just meh for me!

I’ve not tried this brush, but wanted to second your thoughts on the Sephora brush. I just love it! I was going to buy a traditional concealer brush when the lady recommended theirs. Bought the airbrush foundation first (I needed it more) and loved it — so went back for the concealer and my makeup has never looked better! I don’t know how bad it looked before but my hubby can’t tell when I’ve put it on now — my skin but better!!

I currently use elf’s angled contour brush to blend in under eye concealar. Picked up 2. It gets the job done for me but I am curious about the Sephora brush 😀

I work at sephora inside jcp and we changed all our pro brushes from silver handles to black so the silver ones are on mega sale…including the airbrush ones!
