L’Oreal Project Runway Super Blendable Blush The Queen’s Blush Review, Swatches, Photos

L’Oreal has introduced four limited edition shades of Super Blendable Blush with their new Project Runway for Fall 2012 Collection.

The Queen’s Blush is one of two shades I’m really, really liking but the formula isn’t all I hoped for.

Find out more after the jump!

The Queen’s Blush is part of the Enchanted Queen’s Collection which features a more traditional smoky look with red lips and tips. Her blush doesn’t quite go along with the colors in this collection simply because it’s more of a warm Benefit Dallas-like shade. An odd one to pair up with smoky eyes don’t you agree?

It’s kinda of a rich, warm rosy shade with a bit of berry. For me it proves very unique. I own a ton of blushes but this feels quite different from any other shade in my stash at the moment. I absolutely love it. It’s warm, it’s rosy, and it has a certain touch of berry to it that comes across delightful on cheeks.

This year, I’m noticing the blushes from the collection are quite dry. Lucky enough they apply well and have a smooth, flawless finish but the texture is very dry and difficult to swatch. They do go quite powdery when you swipe a brush across them but the formula overall isn’t exactly the best I’ve tried from L’Oreal particularly if I am comparing formulas from last year’s Project Runway Collection.

Outside of this minor rant I really loved the color and found the formula, if nothing else, very workable. It was a mere $7.49 at Harmons which was an absolute steal for this much blush (0.35oz). I would recommend a pick up, I think you’ll find the blush as charming and exceptional a shade as I did.

Anyone own it?

Do share!

P.S. I’m getting closer and closer to the Otherwise concert date here in New York. It’s October 12 in the upstate New York area, I’m more excited about this than when I saw Stone Temple Pilots this Summer. A few friends and myself are making the pilgrimage upstate to see them. Just squeeing myself silly over Adrian Patrick today, yes please, I’ll take him with a side of fries, thanks so much!

I swear my friends are sick of my playlist repeat of The Promise every time they get in my car but but…Adrian and Maria looks so damn sexy together.

What’s your autumn plans looking like? Any good events, concerts, or plans for Fall?

I’m dead tired today….so it’s my pick me up to look forward to this concert!

P.S.S. Thoughts on Who? Not sure I loved A Town Called Mercy!

Oh I’m loving this shade! As for Autumn plans, it seems bands I like don’t come to FL that much, and if they do, they’re far away! I am going to see Matt and Kim in October, yay! I suppose I was spoiled though! I recently moved from CT, and I was an hour and a half away from NYC, so I always went to concerts. :'[

    • the Muse

ahhhh I’m going to see them in November!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are everything that is awesome about indie bands! They played at Arelene’s Grocery several times but dunno why I never got a chance to see them there and I practically live in that dive.

man, must be different from CT to FL, how are you adjusting!? I don’t think I could live in Florida year round, the weather is freaky ;-D

      • Cindy

OMGOSH I knoooow! They are such a fun band, I’m SO excited to see them! I was going to go to NYC for their new years eve show, but I couldn’t get off for work. :'[ As for the move, it’s really nice so far. I feel like last winter we didn’t have a lot a lot of snow, but when we did it was hardcore blizzardness! I really won’t miss that! I’m up in norther FL, so it isn’t super hot like everyone thinks it is. It still gets chilly in the wintertime!

        • the Muse

they are amazings ;-D aw 🙁 that’s the worst, working during the holidays le sigh! hey I can deal with that…! chilly is good hehe it’s just the humidity that KILLZ me!

  • Marissa

While I love reading your reviews, I’m mostly commenting for the Doctor Who side comment.
I was definitely not a fan of A Town Called Mercy, but I feel as if I’m used to more…timey-wimey episodes.

    • the Muse

aw thanks marissa and my fav reply, one that involves DW ;-D me either…this season is a little off, did he say 1200 years old!? what?!

  • Meredith

I keep looking for these displays but no go as of yet. BTW, is that the Too Faced Divine Wine on your lips? Loving it!

  • Amy Amethyst

The blush is really pretty on you! And I like the lipstick you’re wearing too. No plans for the fall except I’m going to go ride with my bf (truck driver) in about a week or so. Be gone for at least 2 months. I’m so ready to get out of here and spend time with him!

    • the Muse

aw thanks amy <3! wow wow wow...2 months!? That's a road trip adventure right there. tell me more...where will you go!? where will you sleep? ;-D where will you eat?! fascinating!!!!!!!

      • Amy Amethyst

haha Sometimes it ends up morphing into 3 months, but that’s my absolute limit. He travels all over the US so it’s not a set route and I never know where I will end up next! I’ve seen a lot of states this way. We stay in his truck which has a sleeper with the bed and storage space and all that. When I’m with him I usually cook because fast food and truck stop food gets old really quick! I have a crockpot that works really well in the truck. Plus we have a microwave and a propane burner I can use to cook stuff in a skillet. He eats way better when I’m with him for sure.

        • the Muse

that is so freaking cool…! what an adventure! Do you actually have to explore your stops or do you have to really have a set schedule and keep to it? I’ve been on a few road trips but never anything that lasted 2 to 3 months wow!

          • Amy Amethyst

Well we have to make sure we keep the appt times so I mostly see shippers and truck stops and rest areas. haha But I do get to see a lot of pretty scenery. Sometimes I wish there was more time to stop and sight see but there’s also the fact that it’s hard to park a truck and trailer just anywhere. It’s still a lot of fun though!

          • the Muse

it still sounds awesome to me plus you guys get to spend a TON of time together as well which is so romantic!!!!!!!! I mean seriously, that’s love right? being so close together for several weeks at a time. Very romantic 🙂

          • Amy Amethyst

Yep the 1st time I went with him I was like this will make or break the relationship cuz we were together 24/7 pretty much for 2 months. But we are both pretty laid back and if we are in a bad mood we just leave each other alone. So it works well. Plus if I want a break I just stick in my earbuds and ignore him for a while. haha

          • the Muse

LOL! that’s LOVE 😀 it really is a test if you are compatible ;-D I think it’s romantic. It must be fun spending that much time with the person you love 🙂 have fun! I hope we’ll still talk while you’re away!?

  • Kiss & Make-up

I’m pretty sure the Project Runway collection won’t ever get launched here, but ah well. I like how this blush looks on you. It looks better on the skin than in the pan, I think.

  • JenJ

Looks nice on ya! How you think this will work on deeper skin tones? Not like I need any more blushes. Teehee!

    • the Muse

should be good jen, it’ll build I think..formula is so so, kinda dry, but blends out to a nice finish!

  • Nikki

Oh that color looks so pretty on you! I’m thinking I got the wrong shade for my skin tone. I have the one from the mystic collection and no matter how much I put on I can’t get it to show on my fair skin.

  • kiwikiwidragon

Ah fall and winter, my fave. We are seeing Mythbusters on tour in October. No concerts for me anymore, my ears can’t take it. I would see lady gaga and maybe vampire weekend. Ear plugs would be a must.

  • Aims

Love your makeup! The blush looks great on you as does the lip color! Do you mind if i ask the brand/shade?

    • the Muse

i’m wearing the blush I reviewed in this post aims…shade/brand is listed right in the post. hope this helps.
