Please Remember

I’m busy, you’re busy, our lives are all crazy I’m sure. Sometimes I feel like I need to schedule time to breath, I’m a New Yorker, I know how crazy my life can get.

But whatever you are doing today I hope you’ll take a second or a minute or five to remember.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I thought about you this morning, and sending you a big hug.

Seeing the images, hearing the names, rewatching footage that I saw live on TV 11 years ago.. I don’t even know if I could put into words the sadness I still feel.

I’m not watching the coverage, just too upsetting for me, I can’t even go there 🙁 sigh. thank you for the hugs xoxox back to you! thankfully I didn’t lose anyone so those hugs might be best sent to those who really need them today 🙂 we can send virtual hugs/wishes/and blessings to all those families missing their loved ones today.

I’m glad you reminded us to take minute to remember. I just can’t think about how many lives were changed in an instant. life is so fragile, everyday is a gift.

indeed, everyday is truly a gift, we shouldn’t forget that. Life is fleeting, enjoy every single second of it.

I still remember the moment someone called to tell me what had happened. I thought it was some kind of sick joke. And then I realized it’s not and just sat there motionless for a second and then started frantically calling my Dad, who was living in DC with my sister at the time. Thankfully they were fine, but so many were not and my heart goes out to them and their families today. Thank you for reminding us to take a moment to remember.

oh god believe me I was all a mess too that day calling friends who worked in the area etc 🙁 I was just in a panic if it was family I’d really be stroking out. thank god your family was ok. Too many, too too many were not, so sad. heart breaking really.

I can only try to imagine how painful it was and still is for people who live there 🙁

But you New Yorkers, such as yourself, do your city proud by remembering the victims year after year.

😀 we shall prevail! I think the Japanese are also some of the strongest people I’ve seen, after their devastation they showed so much hope!

like you, i thought that it was a sick joke, like an updated war of the worlds. Instead of aliens invading, we had terrorists. when my office finally realized that this was actually happening, we just froze and listened to the radio. then hauled azz out of the office since we work about 2miles from NSA.

Last year I wrote the following on another blog that is based on the other side of the country that acknowledged the anniversary and my feelings are still the same if not stronger. I cry every year that the names are being read on TV and have gotten to the point where I have to turn it off as I just can’t take the sadness it brings to me. Like you, I have not been there since before 9/11 and somehow I have had absolutely no desire to go there now – maybe I just want to remember how it was before all the sadness. I know I’ll go back someday (probably to show my children but they are still too young to fully grasp the meaning of it all) but not just yet, strange as I walked through there every day I worked in Manhattan. Thank you for acknowledging this day. Here is my post:

Thank you for acknowledging this day so nicely.

Had it happened five years earlier I would have been arriving under the towers on the train. I worked in 7 World Trade Center (the building that fell later that day) for a while but I walked through the Trade Center almost every day for 12 years. It was all destroyed. Everyone I know either knows someone who was either involved or died there.

Today, like every past 9/11, was a very emotional day for me and many, many others on the east coast. The hurt is overwhelming. It is extremely comforting to know that people in ALL parts of our country share in honoring those people who left their houses that morning and never made it back home.

May God bless all those who lost their lives in NY, DC and Pennslyvania. You are not forgotten.

aw gggg thank you for sharing your story! My gosh I am so so sorry to hear you deeply it touched you. I can’t say I lost anyone or even know anyone who lost someone. I feel so much heartbreak for all those lost and for those who lost someone but gosh you must feel three times as bad having been so personally effected by it. Thank you for sharing this story, it helps us to remember even more what a tragedy that day was 🙁 I’m sending well my thoughts and well wishes to you..!!!!!!
