Skin Food Good Afternoon Berry Berry Tea BB Cream Review & Swatches

I recently reviewed the Skin Food Good Afternoon Rose Lemon Tea BB Cream for you in a prior post which is one of several afternoon tea infused BB Cream formulas that the brand recently introduced.

I also picked up the Good Afternoon Berry Berry Tea as well which is the anti-aging formulation from the collection.

Let’s take a look!

This is a tiny 1 oz tube of BB Cream that comes packaged in a cardboard box. The formula is supposed to be infused with skin nourishing tea and in case of the Berry Berry Tea formula it also contains acai berry and raspberry known as superfruits with anti-aging benefits.

I did purchase this for anti-aging reasons however, I’m not entirely sold that an injection of superfruits will actually offer any great anti-aging benefits so you might not want to rely on that too heavily.

I felt like the Rose Lemon Tea formula was unusual and a bit disappointing. It was quite sheer and had separation issues for some reason which I chalked up to the SPF in the formulation.

Berry Berry Tea suffers from neither of these issues. It has an SPF 35 but I had no problems with a formula that separated and I felt coverage worked well for a sheer to medium finish. It contains a soft fruity floral fragrance that’s quite pleasant and subtle.

This comes in two shade selections, I choose shade 2 which has a fair bit of yellow to it but still adjusted quite well to my skin tone. It brightened up my face VERY nicely and eased dullness considerably. I’m wearing it today in my Maybelline review and I think you can see how nicely it looks in place. It’s quite a lightweight, refined finish that perfects skin but never looks overly done or shouts “I’m wearing BB Cream!”.

The formula absorbs very easily and leaves behind a hydrating finish but will work perfectly fine for both oily and dry skin as it isn’t a BB Cream that leaves behind any shine factors even after hours of wear.

I do digress slightly as I feel like the medium finish I promise might be considered sheer for some. But it builds quite well and will ease dullness, conceal redness, or darkness, and will do an overly good job of perfecting skin. Those with acne scarring or heavier concealing issues might need a bit more coverage though than this offers.

Overall, I really liked the Berry Berry Tea formulation on a whole. Where as the Rose Lemon Tea did not garner my approval I do place a Muse Approval on this one. It had an excellent wear time of a solid six hours without fading or oxidizing, applied easily, and left my skin looking flawless. The size feels smaller than other BB Creams but actually, that’s a good thing, as I already have plenty of BB Creams to get through.

If you’re looking for flawless coverage this does a fairly good job of getting you there.

I had a friend purchase this for me in Korea but several E-bay shops sell it for close to retain. Just be careful who you are buying from as there are many fakes out there.

If you tried and love it do post your thoughts or opinions.

I purchased this item.

Thank goodness this formula was better! I was excited about the good afternoon line from Skinfood but wary of the craptastic rose lemon you didn’t like and it made me reticent to try any of these myself. I’ll reconsider it and pop it onto my buy list.

I ordered a bunch of these a few months back and just looked at this one and it was unopened. The others were so similar I guess I didn’t bother with this one. The first things I notice are that it wasn’t separated coming out and it doesn’t smell “funny”. The wear time was good for me today but I wasn’t outside much. I think it is different from the other ones. Thanks for the post and motivating me to try it!

I don’t understand why there are fakes of bb creams. A friend with similar skin to mine reccomended Liolele’s to me, and I’m trying to find it on amazon but having trouble figuring out who to trust.

  • Quinctia

Does it smell like delicious berries? Berry scented things tempt me just a bit…

Hi Muse! Awesome review per usual. I’m ashamed to say i’ve been lurking your blog for like the last two years without a single word, but I am a fan! Your updates get me through my 9 to 5 🙂 Keep up the good work!

    • the Muse

aw beka thanks girl! really nice to hear from you! lurking is ok, I do it loL! sometimes we just don’t have time to comment, that’s quite ok ;-D I’m glad you enjoy the posts and thanks for taking time out today to say so <3!

Do you know if shade 1 is a lot lighter?? Btw you excited for the new iPhone today??? If you say no we might have to break up.

    • the Muse

sigh I’ve committed myself to buying an iphone 5, yes, I’m excited *says it in a bored tone like I really don’t care but I really am wetting my pants in excitement* lol ;-D I just purchased this phone last year *head desk* first kindle hd, now iphone and a possible mini ipad, I’m broke and the Holidays aren’t even here yet ;-D are you indulging? I think shade 1 is more pink tone, this was a bit yellow.

      • Cj

Ofcourse I am! I get the new one every year lol! I already accepted an offer for my 4s so I won’t be paying a penny for the new one 😀 god I can’t wait lol I wonder if it’s really gonna have a bigger screen or not! Gah do excited. I already got 3 live feeds open lol.

        • the Muse

are you selling to an individual or back to your provider? I haven’t considered what to do with my old one yet. Last year AT&T had an upgrade offer that I didn’t take advantage of, didn’t feel it was worth it so sold off my old phone and just replaced with 4s. prob do the same this year meh…! I HOPE it isn’t a bigger screen to be honest. I like it just the way it is, I don’t want some crazy large phone that I’ll feel uncomfortable lugging around with the rest of the tech gadgetry I already have in my tote/purse ;-D however, I wouldn’t be averse to a higher res screen ;-D

          • Cj

I’m selling mine to instantsale.ebay.com again. I’m getting $294 🙂 I sold my 4 to them last year. Great service no problems. Quite your phone on the site then print off the label, send it to them and they send you the money via paypal

          • the Muse

wow they are giving me $400 for mine! thanks CJ! awesome ;-D will be trading mwahhhaaaaa!

          • Cj

Make sure you order it today, the price will probably go down some when they announce the new one! You have 7 days to send it in btw.

          • the Muse

I’m actually doing it now lol! I was worried about the price drop ;-D how long before they paypal you?

          • Cj

Not very long at all like 2 or 3 days after they recieve it if I remember correctly.

          • the Muse

sorry delayed reply that’s not bad…def going to try this as I am going in for 5 ;D for sure!

  • bean

hey muse, sorry for commenting so much!(catch up on reading your blog!) is this dry? for dry skin users. i know you said hydrating but i tried the Etude Magic BB creme and Maybelline’s BB creme, i think my skin is dry for BB creme application.

    • the Muse

no problem bean I love comments 🙂 comment away! It’s good for dry skin, if you’re having problems with bb application you might need to exfoliate a little more, prep well prior to application as well!

  • Nathalia

I loved your coments about Berry, and wanna try too! I really love my Apple Cinnamon Tea BB cream, and wish you review that one soon! Kissses

    • the Muse

thanks nathalia 😀 I actually didn’t indulge in Apple Cinnamon but maybe will ;-D xoxo!

  • iheartkoreanbeauty

I find Skin Food products pretty rich myself so not tried many of their BBs. Will have to give this one a shot now and see if it can displace Missha Perfect and Saem Double Swirl from the top of my list! 🙂

  • Andi

Do you know of anywhere that lists these ingredients in English? I would really love to try out a BB cream, but I have a pretty severe allergy to chemical sunscreens, specifically oxybenzone. I don’t want to drop the money on something I will have to give away. I should hope that a product line like Skin Food would use an all natural sunscreen, e.g., titanium dioxide, instead of a chemical one, but you can never been too sure.

Just wanted to say, your review on this inspired me to buy this (On sale at sasa.com!) and it’s honestly amazing on me. It’s my new HG product, and I’ve tried so many BB creams that just didn’t cut it, or were a strange colour (Skin79 has SO many good reviews, it just looks off on me) and I’m really, really pleased with it! Thank you Muse! 🙂

    • the Muse

yay that’s awesome news cat! nothing in the world like finding a GREAT bb cream that works for your skin ;-D enjoy!

  • Mai

Whenever I consider buying something, I always come to your website first to see if it gets the Muse’s approval. So I bought this BB cream. This is now my HG foundation. It smooths out my skin tone, covers all dark circles and red spots, but looks like a my-skin-but-better tone/coverage. I love it so much. I even abandoned my all-time favorite Missha M Perfect Cover bb cream. Thank you a million times.

    • the Muse

aw mai I LOVE hearing things like this! I’m so so happy this worked out so well for you that’s great 😀 thank YOU! your comment made my day!

I am creeping on your blog a lot lately hehe… quite a few years back, I bought skin food mushroom or shroom BB cream (I wanted to see what the hype was about BB cream in Asia)… I didn’t care for it, it was too light on me, a bit dry, and I really didn’t see how it was any better than foundation I could get here… Anyhoo, reading your posts about fakes.. I did buy it on eBay and now am wondering if I received a fake! I really shelved the idea of purchasing more and your posts about BB creams have me interested again.. I really am looking for something hydrating, I love a dewy finish, and sun protection is essential. I have issues with a lot of sunscreen under makeup (I find it greasy and/or irritating).. After I bought the Skin Food Pineapple peeling gel (and love it), I want more skin food products 🙂
