Skin Food Good Afternoon Berry Berry Tea BB Cream Review & Swatches
I recently reviewed the Skin Food Good Afternoon Rose Lemon Tea BB Cream for you in a prior post which is one of several afternoon tea infused BB Cream formulas that the brand recently introduced.
I also picked up the Good Afternoon Berry Berry Tea as well which is the anti-aging formulation from the collection.
Let’s take a look!
This is a tiny 1 oz tube of BB Cream that comes packaged in a cardboard box. The formula is supposed to be infused with skin nourishing tea and in case of the Berry Berry Tea formula it also contains acai berry and raspberry known as superfruits with anti-aging benefits.
I did purchase this for anti-aging reasons however, I’m not entirely sold that an injection of superfruits will actually offer any great anti-aging benefits so you might not want to rely on that too heavily.
I felt like the Rose Lemon Tea formula was unusual and a bit disappointing. It was quite sheer and had separation issues for some reason which I chalked up to the SPF in the formulation.
Berry Berry Tea suffers from neither of these issues. It has an SPF 35 but I had no problems with a formula that separated and I felt coverage worked well for a sheer to medium finish. It contains a soft fruity floral fragrance that’s quite pleasant and subtle.
This comes in two shade selections, I choose shade 2 which has a fair bit of yellow to it but still adjusted quite well to my skin tone. It brightened up my face VERY nicely and eased dullness considerably. I’m wearing it today in my Maybelline review and I think you can see how nicely it looks in place. It’s quite a lightweight, refined finish that perfects skin but never looks overly done or shouts “I’m wearing BB Cream!”.
The formula absorbs very easily and leaves behind a hydrating finish but will work perfectly fine for both oily and dry skin as it isn’t a BB Cream that leaves behind any shine factors even after hours of wear.
I do digress slightly as I feel like the medium finish I promise might be considered sheer for some. But it builds quite well and will ease dullness, conceal redness, or darkness, and will do an overly good job of perfecting skin. Those with acne scarring or heavier concealing issues might need a bit more coverage though than this offers.
Overall, I really liked the Berry Berry Tea formulation on a whole. Where as the Rose Lemon Tea did not garner my approval I do place a Muse Approval on this one. It had an excellent wear time of a solid six hours without fading or oxidizing, applied easily, and left my skin looking flawless. The size feels smaller than other BB Creams but actually, that’s a good thing, as I already have plenty of BB Creams to get through.
If you’re looking for flawless coverage this does a fairly good job of getting you there.
I had a friend purchase this for me in Korea but several E-bay shops sell it for close to retain. Just be careful who you are buying from as there are many fakes out there.
If you tried and love it do post your thoughts or opinions.
