I’ve been messing around with it for several weeks now and although it lacks the pigmentation of an Asian BB Cream, I must say, I really like it.
Take a look!
Sleek Makeup Be Beautiful Blemish Balm ($11.49) is a multitasking foundation balm that works as a primer, tinted moisturizer and concealer according to the brand. This is available in four shade selections with what they dub medium to full coverage.
It contains multi-vitamins, anti-aging properties and protein peptides and Vitamin C which adds an extra boost to the skin for glowing complexion. This has an SPF 15 as well and vitamin E to protect skin.
This is slightly over hyped as seen from its description above. The SPF isn’t anything to get too excited about, the coverage isn’t full nor is it even really medium, and it does contain mineral oil as well with peptides appearing way down on the list of ingredients.
However….
With all that working against it, it still offers one of the better formulations I’ve seen in recent BB Cream releases outside of Asia. This is a rich creamy consistency with a cool, refreshing feel as you apply. It blends very easily (I suggest fingers for application or the tried and true palming method) onto skin and adjusts quite nicely to your tone. I got it in light which at first appeared a little too fair for me but it adjusted quite nicely to my skin and produced a nice flawless finish.
The thing I really enjoy about it is the fact it creates a second skin effect. Many foundations and BB Creams seem to embrace this newer technology in their base products lately that act as a second skin of sorts which enhance your own skin tone and color. Sleek Makeup’s BB Cream does exactly that. It’ll take your normal, perhaps duller skin and work with it to transform it into a beautiful, flawless canvas for makeup. The lighter shade was a bit grey based so it might prove a little too dark for very fair skin but it did adjust well on me so it might just work well. The wear time proved very well for me and my skin looked fresh from start of wear to end at eight hours in. No fading problems or oxidation.
The product absorbs easily into skin with a soft hydrating feel. The finish is virtually non existent. We aren’t talking matte here, or satin, or even dewy…it just melds with skin and creates a weightless veil over your skin. It’s fragrance free as well so sensitive skin types won’t have any issues.
I seek out BB Cream to ease dullness and brighten up my complexion and this pretty much does all that. It makes my skin glow and creates a really beautiful canvas for makeup. It should work well for easing redness, evening out skin, concealing minor issues, and easing dullness or tired looking skin. It won’t however, conceal major problems like acne scarring, acne, or other major problems.
Overall, it isn’t the truest form of a BB Cream but it does successfully come across better than many BB Creams I’ve tried outside of Asia. I’d call it a step above a tinted moisturizer with a creamy formula that blends easily and creates a very flawless finish on skin. If you like your skin already and just want it to look better than Sleek Makeup Be Beautiful Blemish Balm will do exactly that.
