Boots No7 Beautiful Skin Melting Gel Cleanser Review

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

Here’s one to try your next trip to Target, Boots No7 Beautiful Skin Melting Gel Cleanser ($8.49). This one is for normal to dry skin (particularly the dry skin folks out there) and is formulated as a gel which melts into a nourishing oil when water activates it.

Sound cool?

That’s because it is!

Boots No7 Beautiful Skin Melting Gel Cleanser is a thick water based gel cleanser made with glycerin and sweet almond oil. I like it because it doesn’t strip my overly dry skin nor does it leave it tight or flaky after use.

You simply squirt a small bit of the gel into the palms of your hands and massage it onto damp skin. Splash with warm water after application and the gel emulsifies into an oily, milky texture. It rinses clean away removing makeup, dirt, and oil (although you’ll want to remove waterproof mascara and eyeshadow prior to applying as it won’t remove either very well). The gel has a fresh floral scent.

It is oil based and does turn into a cleansing milk of sorts as water activates it but doesn’t leave skin oily or dry after use. It’s a very interesting cleanser that does a fairly good job of rinsing away makeup like blush, foundation, powder…!

I like how soft and smooth it leaves my skin without creating havoc on my already drier skin plus the budget friendly price isn’t too bad either. If you like cleansing gels, oils, and milks why not have all three? This cleanser offers the goodness of all those cleansing worlds!

You can shop it from Target or it’s available online at ShopBootsUSA.com

So when you’re tired the title of this reads Beautiful Skin-Melting Cleanser. It took me a second to read it correctly. Once I got that part down it seems like a great product.

OMG I’ve been watching too many halloween movies – I read that as “skin melting” gel cleanser! 😀 duuuhhh……

this actually sounds wonderful! i love oil cleansers esp. in winter when I’m pretty dern dry and this price point on this one won’t make me flinch either!!

thanks for the heads up on this! must look for it my next Target excursion!

lol kim you’re the second person to say that hehehe! My pleasure! It’s quite good. It’s kinda like a hybrid gel/oil/cleansing milk all in one ;D

I read that as “skin melting gel” and thought that can not be good for you.

Texture sounds nice, but scent means I’ll have to surreptitiously sniff it in the store before I commit to trying it.

I nabbed a cleansing milk made by Organix on clearance and I loved it, and am now so upset they only tried selling their skincare line for six months, tops. I need a replacement!

Interesting texture and formula! But since my skin is more combination, I won’t be trying it.

I bought some of this the last time I was at Target and I like it! It works a lot like an oil cleanser, and rinses clean enough not to give my oily skin any trouble.

    • the Muse

yay! I loved it too! It’s kinda like a cleansing milk cleansing gel and cleansing oil all in one!

How does this compare to the Biore gel you reviewed a while back? Does it get rid of makeup just as good?

Hiya, Muse! I’ve been a reader for a long time. 😀 I bought the last tube of the Melting Gel cleanser my Target had based on your review, even though I have oily skin. I wear BB creams, so I use a cleansing oil anyway.

So far, I can’t say enough nice things about the Boots cleanser. It feels fabulous. Thanks so much for the great review!

yay so happy to hear your success with it kelly 😀 my pleasure! glad you got to try it and liked it!

Count me on the “skin melting” bandwagon. Getting caught up on your lovely blog today – lol. 🙂 I have been loving some boots products again. I think this might replace my olay wash that I am almost out of. I use it when I don’t feel like taking the time for Lush or have extra makeup i need to remove first.

I’ve been using a ton of boots lately too! had the moisturizer from a friend in the UK and been using it daily, forgot how much I loved it!

I used to use a similar cleanser from Clarins, the pure melt cleansing gel, but it was getting to expensive. I’m very excited to see how this one compares.

I picked this up and am LOVING IT. It leaves my skin so smooth that there are days that I don’t have to even add more moisturizer! LOVE IT!

Thats funny you just happened to review this on the exact day i discovered it randomly in target! I bought the cleansing balm one for dry-very dry skin (great for us psorises folks!) and its wonderful! Boots are probably my favorite drugstore face products ive never been disappointed by them and have even preferred some of their products to certain high end ones ive tried.
