Chanel Allegorie Glossimer Lipgloss Review & Swatches

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

Chanel Allegorie Glossimer Lipgloss ($29.50) is a new limited edition shade that launched with the Chanel Holiday 2012 Collection. This is a sheer, shimmering pink shade.

I typically favor a deeper lip look for the Holidays. I like to embrace shades of red (that I can pull off without looking like a clown) or super sparkly glosses. Sheer, nude shimmering shades of pink? Not so much!

This is a very pale light pink with a fine white sparkle. It isn’t a color I’d personally choose for myself because I’m of the mentality if I’m going to purchase a Glossimer I want one with a bit of tint to it especially for near $30 yes?

There is some color here but it’s quite sheer and will look best on those with pigmented lips as it’ll enhance a pinker or rosier lip. You can of course mimic the look by adding a little lip stain under it to deepen the shade and allow it to look its very best. If you prefer sheerer, paler shades you may just find solid gold awesome in Allegorie.

The Glossimer formula is always excellent even if I wasn’t impressed with this shade. It’s a lightweight, non sticky yet long wearing formula with a shiny finish.

I kinda wish Chanel Holiday included some festive shades of red Glossimer…..but if nude pink is your game I’m sure you’ll happily haul Allegorie.

… Or I could buy 15 NYX lipglosses. I really don’t see the use of buying expensive lipglosses, especially colours that are so dupeable. I tend to forget I own glosses, preferring balms and lippies anyhow.
