E.L.F. Studio Baked Blush Review & Swatches
Seems the blogsphere is going buck wild over the new E.L.F. Studio Baked Blushes released a few short months ago. Heck, when you have people screaming about MAC Stereo Rose dupes you know I’m listenin’!
Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves though…!
These $3 blushes come in four shades with a baked shimmering formula.
Are they a hit?
Or a miss?
Buy ’em!
They aren’t too shabby kids.
E.L.F. is a hit or miss adventure but when you do find a hit it’s kinda like winning the beauty lotto. They did a fairly good job with these Baked Blushes and they should fill your sweet tooth if you don’t have the bucks to shell out for a MAC Mineralize Skinfinish and hey, they even produce more color pay off than some MSF I own.
The shade Rich Rose is actually the closest you’ll get the MAC Stereo Rose less you’re willing to pay for one on Evil-Bay with the promise of your soul or your unborn child. It isn’t an exact dupe but it’s close enough to get excited about. And for me, it’s the best shade in the lot.
Rich Rose
Peachy Cheeky
Passion Pink
These are baked design very reminiscent of a Skinfinish by MAC. They have a single dominant base shade with a variety of different shades that make up the swirls and veining. The veining isn’t nearly as intricate, unique, or pretty as a MAC MSF but they hold their own for a budget baked blush. Colors are shimmery but not frosty or loaded with chunky glitter like many MAC MSF are. They produce more of a glow than a full on sparkle finish. The shimmer doesn’t emphasize unevenness or larger pores and seems to have a very nice, smooth finish overall. Pigmentation proves very good with Rich Rose having the best color pay off and other shades I tried producing sheer to medium color. The formula blends easily without being powdery or chalky. They do have minor fading issues after four hours of wear so a touch up might be required as your day progresses.
Passion Pink
Peachy Cheeky
Rich Rose
For me the winner here is Rich Rose. It’s a must have and well worth it’s $3 price tag. Other shades are just “nice to haves” for me and weren’t as impressive as a blush but more of a highlighting shade of sorts. Facts are facts though…these are a nice baked blush with a great formula. A perfect budget hit from E.L.F.
Good job guys!
You’re doing it right.
