EOS Alice in Wonderland Lip Balm Set Review

EOS’s darling Alice in Wonderland Lip Balm Set has proven a little tricky to locate for me. It was supposed to be at Target as of September and following up with a release at Walgreens and Ulta in November with online locations such as Target.com, Walmart.com, and Drugstore.com launching it as of November as well.

However, no matter how hard I tried I was never successful finding it at Target! Any luck for you?

You’ll be happy to know that it’s slowing starting to trickle into stores now and I’ve seen it at both Ulta and Target finally as well as online at Ulta.com

This very delightful set was inspired by Disney’s Alice in Wonderland and includes a trio of full size EOS Lip Balm Spheres.

Take a look!

This is a darling set and launched at just the right time for gifting. The set is priced at a reasonable $7.99 so it’s the perfect little budget stocking stuffer or Secret Santa gift. Typically EOS Lip Balms are $2.99 to $3.29 so this is like getting one balm free considering the set includes three full size balms.

Although the balms aren’t actually Alice themed the box they come in is. After removing the balms the backdrop of the packaging shows a scene from the Mad Tea Party and a quote that reads, “Very few things indeed were really impossible.” The outer packaging is sky blue with tiny Alice prints in the background. I wish this cute packaging extended to the balms themselves but sadly the balms are your standard EOS packaging.

If you’ve never used an EOS Lip Balm Sphere before you’re in for a treat. These are a domed shaped lip balm which smooth on lips easily. They have a balm-y texture and leave lips nicely hydrated although not overly moisturized. The finish has a balminess to it so they feel a little heavier on lips like any lip balm would. I wouldn’t say they provide intense moisture but they keep lips very nicely hydrated throughout the wear.

The set includes three flavors:

  • Blueberry Potion (Has a very subtle blueberry flavor that’s sweet and fruity!)
  • Watermelon Wonderland (Comparable to EOS Summer Fruit flavor with a hint of watermelon bubblegum in the backdrop.
  • Sweet Vanilla Nonsense (Very subtle vanilla, a little plastic-y but not so much it makes the balm unpleasant to use).

Overall, if you’re an Alice in Wonderland fan I’m sure you’ll want this set, that’s a given! If you enjoy EOS Lip Balms this is an excellent way to get three of them at a very good price plus cash in on some very cute packaging. There are enough balms here to have one on your end table by your bed, one in your desk drawer, and perhaps one in your makeup bag! I was a little disappointed the packaging didn’t extend to the actual balms (update: thanks to a reader for pointing out there’s a little Mickey shape indented into the side of each balm! Ha! I didn’t notice that!) but overall this is a really cute set with some very nice lip balms to enjoy.

Loves it!

Muse Approved for purchase!

The little indention on the side of the balm is in the shape of Mickey!

That’s the reason I kind of want these, even though I find that EOS balms aren’t moisturizing enough for me. Loooove the Mickey indentations haha.

      • the Muse

i didn’t even notice that until someone pointed it out, would be even cuter if it was a rabbit hehe!

I finally found one last night at Walgreens! Now when I go to work (at Ulta) tomorrow night I can grab another one for my daughter before she jacks mine…I wish they had some sort of Alice theme on the balms themselves but the mouse ears will have to do. 😉

yay gina glad you located ;-D it’s a great set and I’m sure your daughter will ADORE it!

I was all excited about these but mine seem very dry. I have to keep applying it and it still doesn’t feel like much is getting on my lips. Then it disappears very fast. Very sad. I keep buying these balms but they never seem to work well for me.

OMG…I tried to find them at Target on in Sept but had no luck…and now I don’t think I’ll be back in the states for while but you say they have it now…oh the irony….

Haha, I didn’t notice the Mickey Mouse either…until my friend pointed it out. But now that I look at it, I have no idea how I missed it, lol.

hi i just got these and its my first time trying the eos balms. do you find the red one drying, not as moisturizing as the blue one?? i would like to try more but how do i know the difference between them. i dont want more like the red one.

    • the Muse

i didn’t experience that sorry michelle…all of them had the same formula there isn’t anything different about them. Although EOS does offer a variety of formulas such as ones with SPF, etc..but this set has three of the same standard formulations. Unfortunately less you can try the balm before you buy it, which you can’t, you won’t be able to tell which is more hydrating…could be you just got a fluke…!

I did find mine at Target! I looked for AGES (it felt like!) and eventually found it on the bottom shelf of the travel-size toiletries! I screeched – haha!

In all seriousness though, I love the set. I agree, the vanilla is a little plastic-y, but I still use it. I love the Micky Mouse grip indentations too! It’s actually nice for my fingers when opening! 😉

Ordered 2 of these from Ulta for my BFFs (we’re all obsessed with Alice) – for Christmas presents. I have a feeling I’m going to need one for myself, too 🙂

  • Abri
