Jill Stuart Brightening Eye Cream Review

Jill Stuart Brightening Eye Cream has been apart of my daily AM regime for several months now. I purchased it in the hopes it would brighten up my tired eyes but not necessarily rid me of dark circles.

Imma tell you, if you’ve been searching for an eye cream that will rid you of dark circles just give up. It doesn’t exist. Dark circles are best concealed not treated. Seriously.

Jill Stuart Brightening Eye Cream doesn’t technically address dark circles but does promise to hydrate eyes and “improves the luminosity” of the skin under your eyes.

What does it really do?

This comes in a small pink jar with a posh silver topper. It’s very girly and princess-y a la most of Jill Stuart’s packaging. If you put a lot of emphasis on fancy packaging you’ll absolutely adore this. It also comes with a spatula so you don’t have to dip and touch product to apply. Simply use the spatula to dot onto eyes and wipe off after each use.

The formula is a hybrid gel come cream texture. It has the look of a cream however, once it applies it has a moist gel-like feel. Although it supposedly contains Strawberry Juice, Raspberry Essence, and a ton of other fruity ingredients it doesn’t technically smell like them and remains fragrance free.

The cream absorbs easily, has a lightweight finish, and wears well under concealer. My drier eyes definitely desire more moisture however, for a daily AM eye cream it proves plenty of hydration. However, I wouldn’t recommend it for nightly use if you have dry eyes, go with something richer.

There aren’t a ton of anti-aging benefits or even ingredients in this eye cream so most of the fine line treatment stems from the moisture it provides. The more moisture you get the better your finer lines will look and this relies on delivering lasting moisture to ease those finer lines.

I don’t feel like it brightens my eyes, eases fine lines permanently, or even treats the signs of aging. It does however, wear well under makeup which I can’t say of a lot of eye creams which are sometimes too rich and end up creasing my concealer or making it fade.

Overall, Jill Stuart Brightening Eye Cream is a little costly for something that does so very little. It’s very nice as an AM eye cream but offers no particular beneficial results that you absolutely have to run out and buy it. I felt like my eyes looked a little less tired after use and I generally like it but I’m doubtful I’d repurchase it after I finish this jar.

Jill Stuart is sold in Japan and a few select Asian countries however, the flagship store here in New York does sell some of the makeup and skincare like. They do ship as well if you want to call in an order.
