Kevin Beautymaker Concealer Stick Review & Swatches
Kevin Beautymaker is a line of cosmetics created by a famous Taiwanese Makeup Artist. The line is sadly not available in the US but a quick search online and across the board on Evil-Bay will prove fruitful. I believe even Sasa.com carries his collection.
For the most part the brand has always been a raging success for me. He introduced a Concealer Stick sometime ago that I never got a chance to review. This review was brought on by a reader because she was interested in the stick and found it online for purchase. She had mentioned that I loved the Aqua Eye Concealer and asked if I felt the same way about the stick.
I said….
Hells no.
If you’re indulging in Kevin Beautymaker Concealer I highly suggest you snag his Aqua Eye Concealer which is a creamy, hydrating, pigmented concealer. However, if you come across the Concealer Stick skip it. One reason would be it’s technically not available anymore so the product you’re buying is likely old.
And secondly, even a fresh concealer stick is still awful.
I purchased this on a whim sometime ago and realized I still had it when I got the reader e-mail I mentioned above (so glad I found it as I took great joy in tossing it). I recall purchasing it because of my success with Aqua Eye and I remember being quite ranty over the fact that it was awful.
I had hopes the stick formula would be just as creamy and hydrating. Sadly, it’s VERY drying. The formula is cracked and almost aging even as a new, freshly purchased product. Not only is the texture very dry but it blends horribly due to this and ends up creasing rather badly. You MIGHT be able to appreciate it if your eyes are oily as it might prove mattifying for some. However, aging or drier eyes won’t love it. It’s kinda concealer hell for those of us with dry eyes as it blends poorly and dries eyes out even more making them look aged and awful.
I hate to poop all over a Keavin Beautymaker product since his line has proved excellent overall. But damn…this concealer stick is just bad.
Don’t bother your time if you come across it for sale somewhere.
No, no, and no some more.
Kevin Beautymaker used to be sold at Imomoko.com (not sure if she still sells his line) also some good E-bay sellers do have his products in stock just be careful who you purchase from and Sasa.com also carries his line I believe.
