Lorac Eye Candy Eye Pencil Collection Review & Swatches
Lorac Eye Candy Eye Pencil Collection ($28) is a set of four Lorac Eyeliners in a gift set for Holiday 2012. These are an exclusive set to Ulta if you’re yearning them after this review.
This year, Lorac went with a chocolate theme for Holiday 2012. I’m seeing lots of candy and pastry themes for Holiday Collections this year. Lorac went above and beyond with their own Holiday 2012 Collection as they create a selection of eye palettes that look like chocolate bars. So incredibly tempting and cute!
Their tempting Eye Candy Set could make your wish list this Holiday Season due to the diamond bedecked packaging but the formula might disappoint…!
It’s rare I run across a Lorac product I don’t like but sadly the Eye Candy Eye Pencil Collection came up a little short for me. This is a selection of mechanical retractable pencil eyeliners housed in festive gold packaging with diamond embeds. The packaging is very classy and festive. It’s one of the key selling points for the set as packaging, for me anyway, is a big seller.
You get four shades entitled Plum, Cocoa, Licorice, and Coal. Coal is a gray smoky shade and Licorice is a jet black if you couldn’t tell by the names alone.
The price at first scared me but each eyeliner is 0.01 oz in size so it is justified to the quantity of product you are getting.
Now the bad news…
These are a drier pencil with a dense tip. If you have oily lids you might like them as they’ll probably have an excellent finish for such a skin type. However, drier skin might feel they tug during application and don’t smudge out easily. I think the colors lack a certain vibrancy due to that dryness as well. I had issues applying on my waterline as well due to the dryness. The formula just didn’t impress me.

I was surprised as Lorac is typically quite great overall! Their Pro Cream Eyeliner + Brush is on my HG (holy grail list) so wonder why they didn’t extend that excellent formula to some pencil type eyeliners.
You’ll want to check this little guys our in store before making your final purchase decision. I personally didn’t care for them outside of the fun packaging but sadly, packaging isn’t always everything.
