Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow Blue on By Review & Swatches
Happy Halloween my sweets!
I’m dressed as the 4th today so a kind nod and thank you to the folks at Entertainment Earth for getting me my order on time to complete my costume and another to Underground Toys in the UK for getting me my replica of the 4th’s sonic screw driver on time even though it kept going out of stock.
Are you dressing up today?
I’m having a massive party tonight (the date of which has changed so many times UGH!) so do stop by I’ll be sure the goodie bags are filled with beauty as well as candy and jammie dodgers and jelly babies (my pockets are loaded with them!).
To celebrate my costume I thought Tardis blue eyeshadow was definitely the order of the day and Maybelline Color Tattoo in Blue on By is quite fitting not only because it’s a little nod to Sandy but also one to the good Doctor too!
Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow in Blue on By is one of eight limited edition shades launched for Fall 2012. Maybelline went with four warmer shades and four bolder, vibrant shades. Blue on By def falls into the bolder shade selection.
This is a true, bright blue color. As gorgeous as the color is I think most will find it a little difficult to use as an all over shadow as it is kinda out there. I think gold all over the lid with a touch of this on the outer corners of the eye makes for a nice look.
The formula is quite pigmented however, this shade falls victim to patchy application. I find it a little difficult to build and blend out as bare lid shows through as you blend which means you’ll have to slowly build the color up to avoid patchiness.
Overall, it’s probably not a shade you’ll absolutely need if you’re more of a nude, natural girl however, it’ll prove a given if you love bold colors. And hey, the Tardis shade of blue might just turn on the geeks out there, it did for me! *wink*
Available now at drugstores.
P.S. I feel like these shades might just be added to the general catalog but I can’t confirm so def haul it now to be safe before it disappears for good. Target seems to keep restocking the shades over and over which is why I feel like it might be around to stay!
Own it?

P.S. Hook is hot, that is all.
