NYC New York Color Fashion Predator Metallic Eyeliner Review & Swatches

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

Far be it from me to get excited about liquid eyeliner but I do like the Metallic Eyeliners released with the NYC New York Color Fashion Predator Collection for Fall 2012.

And hey, at $2.99 each I can afford to indulge even if I don’t use liquid eyeliner often!

NYC New York Color Metallic Liquid Eyeliner is available in two limited edition shades with this collection. Choose from Serpentine (purple) or Leopard Print (golden brown) or get both, you can afford to at at a mere three bucks each.

These liners are a rich, creamy metallic color with a thin brush for application. The formula is a tad on the runny side but it glides flawlessly on the lash line leaving behind a nice metallic glint on dry down. I’m wearing Leopard Print today (which I’m kinda sorta obsessed with) and it gives my brown eyes a nice little pop of golden brown. Both have excellent pigment although the purple is a bit sheerer than the brown.

The liner does have a bit of a dry down period and remains “wet” for a few moments so do beware during application as it will smudge easily if you don’t allow it to dry completely. Once dry it seems to hold strong on me without flaking, smudging, or fading away.

I’m a klutz with liquid liner so I’m quite happy to spend a few dollars on a budget liner versus indulging in a $20 something one I won’t use often!

Def do check this two out!

Likey!

Available now at drugstores.

What’s your budget liquid liner of choice?

Hm, I’m not a NYC fan. I’ve had some serious eyeliner disasters with NYC eyeliner, so I’m pretty hesistant to try this…

I ended up getting backups of these even though I don’t use them much :). I bought out the display haha.

Nyx’s Glam liner reminds me a LOT of UD’s, so I’d say that’s my “budget” liner of choice, but at 1/3rd of the price of UD, it might make its way to being my liner of choice, if you know what I mean!

In my experience it’s pretty hard to muck up a liquid liner formula. I’ve got super oily eyes, so creams and pencils are dangerous territory for me. XD I might need to check these out! The colors are really pretty! 🙂

Hehe, yeah, application is definitely a challenge. But once it’s on and dry, liquid liners are pretty much the only formula that works for me; everything else just smears and smudges away quite soon because of the oil slicks I carry around on my eyelids. xD
