Sephora + Pantone Universe Alchemy of Color Collection for Holiday 2012

Good Morning!

I’m a little behind on comments, a lot behind on e-mails, and haven’t had a chance to say hey to any of you on Twitter lately. Sorry!

I hope you’re having a great week.

I know you’re all terribly eager for word on Sephora Friends and Family 2012 but sadly I got nada kids. Not a whisper of a rumor, nor a word….all is silent. I know bloggers have been speculating that it started today but I tried the typical coupon code, FF2012, but it doesn’t work. So much for starting on the 18th but the day is yet young so who knows what will happen. Of course, as soon as I hear anything I’ll let you all know.

And by the way you might want to add the Sephora + Pantone Universe Holiday 2012 Collection to your Friends and Family Wishy List because it looks quite beautiful.

I’m terribly excited about the eyeliner set as it has a Rose Gold shade. That’s a very unique color that I don’t already own in my own massive stash of eyeliner. I also really love the palette and I’m considering a haul should it go on sale. I’d feel a little guilty paying full price since I think I’m on palette overload over here…! But it’s so tempting.

Do you like this collection?

It isn’t as wonderful as the Summer 2012 Pantone Collection but it definitely made me tingly all over!

Thoughts?

It’s available now at Sephora and Sephora.com

    Hey Muse

Gm! The eye palette surely looks awesum so does the lipstick palette..but sadly I juust read on sephora facebook that there is no F&F sale this year. The spin wheel thingy going on at the moment has replaced that..however it seems that there is some offer coming up just for the VIB’s and BI’s. It’s really disgusting..was really waiting for this sale..:(

    • the Muse

sweta they say there will be no FF every year. they denied an FF last year as well but it still happened 🙂 don’t worry I’m sure they just want to keep things hush hush!

      • Sweta

oh is it..thats good news..i was not aware of that..:) would you be reviewing any of these items?

        • the Muse

yeah…I dunno they always pull the “there isn’t any sephora FF” and everyone gets panicked and crazy and than suddenly the next week they post “OH btw the Sephora FF starts today!” so yeah don’t take anything they say to heart…I’m sure they’ll be a FF 🙂 yeah I think I’ll be picking up the eyeliners/palette 🙂 both look very nice!

  • Littlecreek

I like that gold trio. I got to thinking and I actually don’t have any gold polish. Weird.

As far as you being behind, I say it’s comment dump time! My email can handle it!! 🙂

Only 6 more weeks til we find out wether it’s a boy or a girl! Had an ultrasound a couple weeks ago and it was awesome getting to watch Steve (code name for the baby) move around.

    • the Muse

lol thanks girl I might have to do that! YAYYYYYYYY! lol code name steve hmm couldn’t you do something like code name Viper or Cobra like Once Upon a Time that’s WAY cooler ;D

  • stef

it’s so weird, i wonder how the rumor of 10/18 got started! and so many people were sharing that info!

  • Lemony Licks

Would it be weird to say that I am the most excited for the faux lashes? All of them look bold and dramatic without going too overboard.

That said, nothing else in the collection really excites me – I guess I got used to the hype of the first Sephora + Pantone collection.

    • the Muse

no I think it’s kinda cool you like the lashes! I’m a klutz with falsie application but they sure are pretty ;-D really?!?!?! I thought they did a great job with the seasonal releases did you not even like Summer?

    • Caitlin

No, I’m with you Lemony! I thought that lash set looks really great, too! Nice variety, all blingy and interesting but not completely over-the-top. Love em!
I think some of the polishes also look nice. I also really like the sleek design on the compacts. And the foil eyeliner set looks very useful.
Overall, A+ on this collection at first glance!

  • Marta

If we don’t get the pencil eyeliner set I’ll be broken hearted. I really need some good eyeliners, and that set has 5 fun-but-basic shades! I can skip the palette as I have a lot of metallic eyeshadows already though…

  • Tiffany Martin

I still think Pantone was the best thing to happen to Sephora! The nail polish trios, the eyeshadow palette, and the 6 color eyeliner pencils are all appealing to me, and am eager to try them.

  • Nina R.

Ok, so we all went through this last year and here’s what happened. In October, there is an in-store F/F that is only available if an SA gives you a card, which are very scarce and very hard to come by. They really mean it to be Friends and Family, not just good customers (which I find really annoying considering how all the other large chains operate!). Muse thankfully showed us the online-only link that was only available if you registered your e-mail address, even if you are a VIB Insider. In November, the “real” F/F happens when you get an email and can shop in the stores and online to your heart’s content. I’m guessing that’s what’s going to happen this year.

    • the Muse

*nods* yup, yup…I remember everyone cussing Sephora on facebook lol! and it was all hoopla because the FF happened anyway even though everyone and their mom was saying OMGZ NO SEPHORA FF!?!??! ;-D

  • Eileen

I think I might be the only one glad it isn’t F&F yet! Waiting for my November paycheck, haha.

I’m not as keen on anything here but I do really like the Pantone collaborations as a whole. These just happen to be shades most of us have if we purchased any holiday sets or palettes last year, I think.

  • Prerna

This year you have to get your code through a Sephora worker. You give them your email and they email the unique code to you. There are some beauty gurus who have been retweeting sephora worker’s offers of taking emails…but as far as I’m concerned, for someone not knowing someone else who works at sephora, that’s about the limit to getting early access.

    Yuck.

  • Shelly

Sephora said on Facebook today that it is no longer doing a public FF but it will be doing a 20% VIB soon. Sephora: “… We are so sorry, but Sephora has made the decision to no longer do a public Friends and Family. We do have some other great offers coming up for VIBs, so make sure you are signed up to receive our emails.” Sephora: “… We do have a 20% off VIB sale coming up.”

    • dionne

that VIB offer is going on now and ends on the 12th. that is actually 4 days to get the same discount as an employee would.
yes Sephora was strict on FF 20% this year. employees were giving post card coupons and an email link.

  • Eleanor

I really like that ES palette. I hope they are great. I also really like the black polishes. For some reason, I don’t have any and could really use some. I’ll look forward to your reviews. 🙂

  • Ruth

I ended up down a rabbit hole reading about the FF sale/no sale and people were very angry about Sephora not having their sale public. The comments were along the lines of that they’ll never shop there again to it’s no wonder since they have terrible CS anyway. I understand the upset, but Sephora is not required to have a sale at all. The individual makeup sites have plenty of sales during the year and if the bonus point “gifts” are the deciding factor to purchase at Sephora, the makeup sites have better free samples.I like to shop there for the convience of plenty of brands to look at one store without an SA being too fussed whether I purchase anything or not.

sorry for the length without a silly comment, but it was really bugging me that people just didn’t use their head and look elsewhere to get a great deal.

  • Jacee

I’m agonizing over whether I want the black or gold nail trio set and am already dying to see swatches. They just look so… opulent! haha

  • Malaila

Could you please do swatches for the Sephora and Pantone Universe Precious Foil Lipstick Palette?? (or post an external link for lip swatches)

    • Isabella Muse

Sorry, I don’t have this palette and not sure who has it swatched maybe google search? Hope this helps!
