Tarte Loving Cheek Stain Review & Swatches

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

With all the discussion of Holiday 2012 Makeup Collections I did so forget to enjoy my favorite time of the year, Fall. Shall we take a step back and discuss some Fall goodness today?

Yes?

Tarte introduced a new Cheek Stain for Fall 2012 called Loving…have you checked it out yet?

I remember when Tarte Cheek Stain was one of my biggest loves and my biggest hates. They imparted such a great glow but the formula ended up so melt-y and liquid-y after owning it for a few months.

Tarte’s much improved upon the formula since days of old and the cheek stain is now very solid sans the messy liquid of yesteryear.

This water based gel cheek tint is filled with incredibly good for you ingredients and has this highly addicting sweet citrusy scent that makes me want to nom it hard. The stick is a dense gel which applies and blends easily onto cheeks directly from the tube or you can dab a sponge on it and apply to cheek bones.

Loving is Rosy Golden Coral shade (ideal for Fall looks) with flecks of gold shimmer. It def has a healthy amount of glitter so be sure to blend well to avoid too much of a disco glow look. On my cheeks it comes across a warm dusky peach.

If you love Tarte Cheek Stains I’m sure Loving will found a happy home in your makeup stash. The one downside I do find to these Cheek Stains is the wear time proves very short on me but I’m happy the formula has improved as they are easy enough to tote around in my makeup bag without being a mess and allow for me to touch up on to go!

Are you a fan of Tarte Cheek Stains?

Any fav shades?

Tried Loving?

Do share!

Hello Muse! Perhaps it could be the color? I have true love(I initially wanted flush but they were sold out :[) and it works amazing! It leaves the most natural flush on my pale skin and it stays on all day. Powders and creams tend to wear off on me quickly. But this is a keeper for me!

unfortunately all of them :-/ I have about ten shades and they always slip right off me within an hour 🙁 I wish they had all day staying powder but no luck!

Ah so it’s not just me! I have a smaller sized cheek stain that I got in one of last year’s holiday sets, and it’s gotten all liquidy! I love how it look on, but I hate opening it up and dealing with the mess.

Yeah I love the idea behind these cheek stains and I have one, but it never seems to last long on me. And, once I put the lightest dusting of powder over my face, it looks like I’m not wearing blush at all! So I end up just using powder blush over it…

I splurged on this a couple of months ago too. I say splurged bc these really are the only blushes I wear, but I hsve a gazzillion of them! Even the minis last for years! I never had an isdue like you said w the orig formula ( still using them) except for one in babydoll. My favs sre Cloud 9 ( dont think they make it anymore) blushing bride do I wanted to try this one. The colOr is great, but I agree it foes not last long like the older formula :(. Thry have a new liquid type verdion out now too, but not sure I’m interested in trying. Would love to see a review from you on the Tarte Smolder Eyes ( maybe the new holidsy set?). Love these!

me too cc ;-D I have like 10 which is crazy as I don’t them as much as I do powders ;-D that’s quite good, I tried it and reviewed. It’s very long wearing! I already did all the holiday set reviews including the smolder eyes. 🙂

the tarte cheek stains are my favorite cosmetic product of all time, they make me so pretty!

  • crango

I’ve been wondering what this color looked like and I’m really digging this shade! They don’y last too long on me either, but at least they’re easy to reapply when needed

This color is not for me. I’ve been looking to try out a darker shade or a more red-based shade instead of my peaches and pinks but I’m afraid of looking like a doll. Also, I dislike glitter. Any suggestions?

maybe a touch of benetint cat? just a natural in from the cold cheek look!
