Almay Intense I-Color Bold Nudes for Spring 2013

Almay Intense I-Color Bold Nudes is a new collection featuring the new Almay Intense I-Color Liquid Shadow + Color Primer. Intense I-Color Liquid Shadow + Color Primer appear to be a dupe of Covergirl’s Intense Shadowblast Eyeshadow as they are a cream shadow with a built in primer, same as Covergirl’s version.

There are also new Intense I-Color Defining Liners in this collection with are pencil eyeliners with a soft sparkly finish. And finally new Intense I-Color Bold Nudes Palettes in four new shades.

I ran across this display at Harmons a few days ago and picked up some of the Almay Intense I-Color Liquid Shadow + Color Primers. There are four shades total of these.

I’m doubtful I’ll like them considering I didn’t love Covergirl’s version but I’m kinda a sucker for cream formulas so I’m hopeful about them. The new palettes didn’t really phase me as they appear easily duped by shades already available in the general catalog. Spring Collections seem to launch earlier and earlier lately…at one time you’d see them the first week of January at the earliest and the latest mid January. But seems like more brands launch their Spring Collections earlier and earlier. So during your Holiday shopping jaunts be sure to stop at your local drugstore to see what might be new for Spring 2013.

What do you think of the Almay Intense I-Color Bold Nudes Collection?

Hi Muse! TGIF! I bought all four of the liquid shadow/primers because I love to use the Covergirl ones as a base for powder shadows(in fact, those are the only Covergirl product I like and re-purchase), and the colors are not the same — especially that purple!

I bought the liquid shadows at Target and there were no new shadows, but I’ve learned from past experience to pass on Almay eyeshadows since they have always been a huge fail. Besides, these look like the same ones that are already in the Almay collection.

hey christina sorry super delayed reply! ;-D I’m gonna test these out in the hopes that they are better than CG’s, I tried the ones from covergirl but it wasn’t as successful an experience as yours chica ;-D

This is a late reply, but just wanted to say I really like the new formula Almay trios (the eye shaped palettes). The old ones were hit or miss and I think people just gave up on the brand, because no one talks about them, but the reformulation was a real improvement in both formula and color selection. Some are better than others.. but I have not found a real dud yet. I own most of them. I do wear primer and base but I do that for any shadow. I picked up this new collection at Target for just over $4 each, and have worn all but the green eyes. The blue eyes is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful neutral toned browns, well balanced in tones, smooth and lovely in formula. The crease color is matte, the lid color is shimmer, and the highlight has a really beautiful pearly sheen. I rearranged them a bit and wore the highlight as lid, lid as crease, and crease as outer corner and it was my favorite look this week. The brown and hazel sets were OK, the melon color in the hazel set is beautiful and very unique, and was gorgeous on green eyes (would be fantastic on blue or brown as well) just not sure about pairing it with the navy, maybe as liner instead of crease… and the two purples in the brown set were a bit too close to each other to make a nice look in the order they suggest, but they do make a beautiful smokey eye… I find a lot of them look nicer if you change the order of application.
