Bobbi Brown 24 Karat Shimmer Brick Holiday 2012 Review & Swatches

Ahhh great joy a new 24 Karat Shimmer Brick awaits you from the Bobbi Brown Holiday 2012 Collection. I’m positive I have enough Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks to get me through the plague at this point. Just in case Bobbi’s Shimmer Brick factory gets overtaken by zombies and no other Shimmer Bricks can be produced you can always feel safe and reassured that you can stop over at my fortress to get your glow on (just because you’re battling zombies doesn’t mean you have to be lazy about your makeup application!).

I have plenty to go around.

24 Karat Shimmer Brick is a new color variation released for a limited time with Bobbi’s Holiday 2012 Collection so best get hauling while the hauling is good. Time’s a wasting because the Holidays (and the zombie plague) are around the corner (who knows the plague might hit before the holidays!).

This five strip pearlescent shimmer highlighter promises to give skin for a lit-from-within glow or hell, use it on your eyes for a bit of sparkle and flare.

Little secret, I really should avoid these because I totally over do it when applying and haven’t quite mastered the technique of less is more. This multi-use highlighter can be used on cheeks or all over the face however, I’ve taken to using a fan brush and just applying on my cheek bones…when you say “all over face” you’re asking for trouble with my application methods.

This isn’t 100% gold goodness it comes across with some elements of rose due to the dusky shade of pink towards the bottom of the palette. It reflects in bright sunlight beautifully and produces a highly radiant glow on cheeks and skin. If you tend to wear warmer shades during the holidays with a strong emphasis on natural and nude colors on lids, eyes, and cheeks this will provide a nice finishing touch to your looks.

Although very similiar to shades released in the past I always found that each Shimmer Brick ends up coming across quite unique due to that single shade of color in the mix that’s a game changer. In this case, the dusky pink is what makes this a unique Shimmer Brick and gives the highlighting effect a more rose gold finish.

Overall, it’s a solid choice for the Holidays if you’re a fond fan of sparkly highlighters.

Muse Approved for purchase.

This seems really similar to a Physicians Formula one called Vegas. The bottom strip isn’t so pink. So that’s an option if you just want golden tones.

I can’t even believe that I haven’t tried any of the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks yet! What in the world is wrong with me! I NEED this in my life! I am a huge addict of higlighters and I think I have been putting it off because I just know I will need all of them! haha
Out of all of them is there one that is a fave? One that I absolutely must have?

I do use highlighter, but I prefer a matte or shimmery finish. This is a bit too sparkly for me.
