Bobbi Brown Atomic Pink Lip & Eye Palette Review & Swatches

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

The new Bobbi Brown Atomic Pink Lip & Eye Palette is one of two limited edition palettes that launched for Holiday 2012. These tiny travel palettes feature all the essentials for your eyes and face in a teeny tiny compact that you can easily tote around with you.

There’s just something so sweet about a little palette that contains essentials! I swoon!

On the weekends I sometimes crash at my best friend Jai’s place. Much of his bathroom has become decorated with both our beauty products and I have my own drawer at this point. I was actually busy cleaning that drawer out last week because somehow, someway things I needed for my daily looks were in that drawer and not available at home. My cleaning technique was basically removing the drawer and dumping the entire contents into my tote. I sorted through it later at home and vowed not to leave stuff at his place when I know I NEEDED it at my own house.

That’s why this cute little Bobbi Brown Lip & Eye Palette is the perfect treat for me. I can tuck it easily into my purse, makeup bag, or that drawer. It has all the essentials for creating a smoky eye look on the go!

You get three eyeshadows, two lip colors, and a lipgloss.

Eyeshadows:

  • White Eyeshadow (pure matte white)
  • Cement Metallic Eyeshadow (shimmering silver nude)
  • Eclipse Eyeshadow (blackest black matte) (LE Shade)

Lipsticks:

  • Pale Mauve (pink mauve)
  • Atomic Pink (bright fuchsia pink) (LE Shade)

Lipgloss:

  • Pink Cloud Lipgloss (bright pink)

The shadows run a little drier in this palette. I had issues with the mattes, they applied a tad patchy for me however, Cement, the metallic shade, had a lovely easy to blend formula. For a smoother glide dampen a sponge applicator slightly as it eases the matte’s application considerably. The lipsticks are denser so you’ll want to use a lip brush with them (P.S. Bobbi, next year throw a tiny lip brush in and we’ll be prepared to take on the world!).

I think if you generally favor mattes and use them in daily smoky looks you’ll get on famously with this kit however, if you’re like me and prefer a little sparkle it might not be the best solution. Overall, I liked it but I’d switch up the brighter pink lip colors and add in a little more metallic or shimmer to the shadows. In that case, it would be perfect for my weekend travels!

If you travel a lot, stay at your boyfriend’s place, or you just need a tiny touch up palette this might serve you well especially if you already use Bobbi Brown products and want something more portable.

It’s available now at Bobbi Brown counters as well as online at BobbiBrown.com

Ya know… I gotta say, I expect more from Bobbi Brown. This palette is kind of a snooze and the patchy matte shadows are a deal breaker for me! I hate hard to blend shadows! Boo! 🙁

If I have to work hard for my e/c to apply it.. I just skip them. And the gloss looks patchy too??

Thanx for this review. I really love the lip gloss shades but matte eye shadows dont really work for me ,I look for something glossy & creamy.

I’d love to pick up one of these to keep for holiday makeup appointments. Everything I’ll need in one tiny palette.
