Chanel Abstraction Illusion d’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow Review & Swatches
Chanel Abstraction Illusion dOmbre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow ($36) is part of the new soon to be launched Les Expressions de Chanel Collection. This shade of course spoke to me on so many levels since I absolutely love corals.
Take a look!
This is a lovely peach rose…I wouldn’t quite call it coral although it has some of the shade’s elements. Peach rose is just about right as it has a little hint of rose and a ton of peach. It reflects on lids as a coppery golden pinky peach.
I’ve reviewed Chanel Illusion d’Ombre in a prior post so if you’d like to refer back to that for a deeper review please see this link. These shadows have a sponge touchy with a little bounce. They quite remind me of Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blushes in texture but with a softer feel. The texture is a hybrid mousse come cream come sponge eyeshadow that applies and blends like a dream. I noticed that this particularly shade had an odd way of flaking up a little bit when I went in for application (not on lids but on my brush and/or fingers) but it still has a smooth, even finish on lids although those little crumbly bits do end up falling out a little during application. It blends dreamily on lids without fading or creasing for a few hours after application. Chanel includes a brush for application but it’s more of a slanted eyeliner brush than an all over color one. You can use this shadow as a liner or as an eyeshadow however, Abstraction is probably best suited as an eyeshadow.
The joy is the color for me. I’ve been a fond fan of Chanel Illusion d’Ombre since their launch so I was quite excited to add this new shade to my collection. It’s quite a unique shade and I don’t believe I really have anything as easily duped in my collection.
If you like corals with a pink sparkle you’ll adore this shade.
I’m Muse Approving it for purchase!
The collection will launch shortly at chanel.com as well as at your favorite counters. Make Abstraction part of your haul when it does launch!
