Essence The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 2 Makeup Collection

Essence has created a limited edition Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 Makeup Collection to celebrate the movie release as you know. This post is just in time considering the movie is out later this week.

Who’s going?

It’s ok, no shame in my game, I admit I’ll be heading in to watch. The movies kinda killed the books for me. I liked the first film but think they went overboard with each one they made to the point that it turned into a little too much of a cheesefest. But hey, cheesy movies are good for the soul sometimes.

Don’t knock this collection until you tried it. If you can put aside the cheesiness it’s associated with you might just find a product or two to love from the launch!

Take a look!

Hopefully because that red blush must be mine!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Yeah, the names are great 🙂 I personally really like the nail polish. All four colors are gorgeous, especially the dark ones.

  • Tammie

The blush might end up in my stash despite the name and movie tie-in…I’ve been wanting a red one for winter…we’ll see…

  • AnniLau

The books were terrible too…which didn’t stop me from reading them all, and I’ll probably catch the last film when it becomes available to rent as well. I have sort of that “I can’t avert my eyes from this horrifying car accident” reaction to the franchise. She’s just not a very good writer and the whole ‘love is obsession and giving up who you are for the other person’ thing is thematically icky. Also, potentially dangerous for young girls who don’t know any better. The further the series went, the stupider it got, and I think the films have been very true to that. The only additionally objectionable thing I see in the films is, whatever possessed them to make all the vampires look like tarted up streetwalkers with bad contacts?

  • Icaria

The blush is gorgeous! I will be going to see it. I have no choice in the matter. If I don’t I’ll end up being the worse mom evaar!

  • Fuu

In Germany they are marketing the pigments to be used as nail polish colours if you add it to clear and you can mix it with lip gloss.

  • cas

I have never watched Twilight, but for some reason I really want like all of this stuff. Haha

  • Ally

Argh, I loathe Twilight but I love Essence, it’s my favorite budget brand 🙁 I want half of these pieces… maybe I’ll get then and scratch the name off to make myself feel better lol

  • Alena

Hi, did you contacted the winner of your giveaway already? I know it’s a little silly when I am asking just like that but I have hungry mailbox and it always eats important emails 🙁

  • Ruth

I’m not a fan of twilight but I’m such a sucker for dark nail polish, i figure it’s my inner teen still rebelling against the norm.

  • Jess

I got the highlighting powder with is smooth to apply and creates a champagne highlight!

  • Holly

Saw this at my ULTA and it was nearly wiped out. Sad panda. I did manage to snag a gold polish though.

  • cat

I’m not a fan of Twilight but I read this post for the product names. They are laughably bad. I know very little about Twilight and I could have come up with those names.

  • amy

I’m a *complete* sucker for pigments, and the matching polishes look divine. I’m also eyeing that darker gloss… I’ve heard great things about the brand, too, and I can actually *afford* everything in the collection, even with the Holidays coming, LOL. I just wonder how much Goth cred I’d lose if I bought anything…

  • Nat

I’m a Mystie (fan of MST3K), and I watch a lot of Rifftrax too. Have you ever watched the Twilight movies with Rifftrax? They’re hilarious! Only way I can watch those movies. :3

      • Nat

HAHA so good – my fave is the Benny Hill music when he “runs” through the forest. 😀

        • the Muse

lol that is funny considering edward’s face is so intense when he’s running and than you have that really goofy benny hill music playing as they run full speed lmao!

  • OrangeLipstickBlog

Lol – “OMGGGG, Alice! Shut up!” I think the rest of the names are a little phoned in.

So, funny story time: My college showed the 2nd movie in our big gym one night. Now, it’s a dry campus but my friend and I had gone off campus beforehand (I promise!) and I had….enjoyed myself a wee bit. I had never read the books/seen the movie so I spent the whole time whispering, “Who is this? What’s happening? OHMYGAWDHISABS!” And every time Jacob came on screen I was like, “TEAM JACOBBBBB!” really loud. Everyone else started doing it along with me though, so it was hilarious.

Not sure why I shared that but thought it might give you a laugh lol.

    • the Muse

lol ;-D I laughed myself silly at the names. LOL you’re too funny! I totally enjoy the films, they are a cheesefest but hey a little cheese is good sometimes ;-D you should read the books they aren’t as bad as folks say ;D

      • OrangeLipstickBlog

Lol, giiiirllll, I totally read the books after that! I actually rented the audiobook for one of them from the library and listened to that while doing major cleaning one day. I’m ashamed to say that the books were actually pretty good lol. But I really dislike K-Stew so I think that’s why I’m so averse to the movies!

  • Tennyoceres

I don’t like Twilight at all. I’ll acknowledge that it defines my niece’s generation though. It’ll soon date her like *NSYNC and Bad Boys 2 does for me.

I saw this collection at my local Ulta. Sure enough only a few pieces (the blush and shimmer) were left. The Ulta is located in prime teenage hangout mall.

  • Danielle

STILL do not like Twilight. “We’re the same temperature now.” WHO SAYS THAT??? Argh. I will totally indulge in this stuff but Jesus, can we PLEASE have some kick-butt vampires again?! From Dusk till Dawn, please!

  • AmandaM

    Not a Twilight fan…but I did pick up 2 of the polishes (Alice Had a Vision-Again & Jacob’s Protection).

  • Shayna

I just picked up all 4 polishes and all 4 pigments at Shoppers Drug Mart (I’m Canadian).

I’ve never seen or read any of the twilight stuff and have no plans to change that!

    • Elizabeth

I wish we had an Ulta here in southern Ontario….We had to go to the states to an Ulta and most of the makeup was gone. Our Shopper’s Drug Mart said they never heard of it! so rediculous!!

  • lexi

I bought the red blush and I absolutely love it. I thought it would be wayyy too dark, but it’s the perfect shade. I wanted the nail polish but they were all out. anyone know where you can buy online?

  • desiree

i want to buy it, but dont have stores that carry the collection 🙁 where can i buy it online????

  • Briana

Where can i buy this collection. Ik its been years but i would love to get them
