Essence The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 2 Pigment Review & Swatches

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

As you know Essence created a limited edition Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 2 Collection inspired by the film. The collection includes four loose pigment eyeshadows available for $3.49 each.

If you like sparkly shades of shadow dive ahead!

Wooowee! I tried one of these and they are glitter central!

Each shaker pot is a generously sized 0.11 oz. The pots are tiny enough to easily store but I find them a little messy to use during application. I generally like to tap loose eyeshadows and pigments into the lid and swirl my brush around it. This is a tiny lid so it does prove a little messy to shake the shadow out.

I tried one shade, Edwards Love which is an off blackish-grey with multicolored silver and blue glitter. It’s not a chunky glitter however, there’s so much of it that it comes across very glittery with less of a refined sparkle. Although the pigment does have color enough to produce a true to pan finish, the shimmer dominates the look and creates a disco-ball look.

For a young girl perhaps…for me, self confessed shimmer lover, it’s too much. It also produces a ton of fall out which results in extremely messy application to the point it seems impossible to clean it from your face, cheeks, and everywhere else it falls.

Don’t get me wrong, they are a nice little budget pot of color but the sparkle proves a little too rich for me. Overkill to the max.

These are available for a limited time at Ulta locations.

Anyone haul ’em?

This looks like an absolute nightmare. Black eyeshadow fallout is the bane of my existence, just adding glitter into the mix just makes things that much worse. Pass!

I just got Alice Had a Vision – Again. I can’t wait to play with it! It seems messy but it is pretty.

what about dumping it into a bottle of clear nailpolish to make an awesome top coat?

Not impressed… I hope to find this collection. >_< My Ulta has this tiny little shelf of Essence. Very pathetic.

I wonder if using them wet would help make application better …. I know Mac pigments can be fallout central well with most loose eyeshadows, I use them wet and works a bit better 🙂

I think you definitely should try two other pigments of this collection: Jacobs love and alice had a vision again. These are shimmery, but nog with these big glitters in it as the pigment edwards love. Especially alice had a vision again, the purple one is very pretty. The shimmers in the pigment you showed remind me of broadway starlet, another pigment of essence, just like if they blended it. Nice to try for this price, but maybe you should try the other ones too:)
