Gosh BB Cream Review & Swatches

Gosh BB Cream
is available at Duane Reade stores. Actually the entire or most of the Gosh Collection is available at Duane Reade now so if you’ve been wanting to try this brand you can do so now. Plus they have testers available which scores points for extra coolness in my book.

I was highly interested in checking out that Gosh BB Cream after hearing about it some mouths ago so I finally stepped in store to grab one up. This promises to act as your foundation, primer, and moisturizer. I should have known that it wouldn’t be too much of a true BB Cream formula but my curiosity was piqued none the less.

Take a look!

This is terribly expensive for what it is. Marked at nearly $26 after tax I felt somewhat badly about indulging when I know I can get two good Asian BB Creams for that price.

I believe it’s available in six shades total. I purchased the 02 Beige shade which turned out to be a fairly nice shade of lighter beige. I’m always generally scared of any base product with “beige” in the name as it typically makes my duller skin even more tired looking. Thankfully this was a nice enough match if not a touch too dark.

The formula is creamy with a nice hydrating feel. It does provide a nice bit of moisture during application but not so much you’ll want to skip moisturizer. The formula is water based so it has a smooth glide across skin and a flawless finish that doesn’t accentuate drier areas or pores. It’s weightless and appears as if you aren’t wearing makeup at all which in fact is part of the problem.

I typically rely on a good BB Cream not so much to hide flaws but to brighten my skin up, ease dullness, and even out skin tone. Sadly Gosh relies on more of a tinted moisturizer formula and simply dubs this as a BB Cream therefore completely missing the point of what one really is. If you head into your purchase with an open mind about the lack of coverage you might be happy with it. It’ll even out your skin tone, hydrated skin nicely, and create a fairly nicely makeup-less look for blush and other facial products. However, it lacks the pigment to create a truly flawless appearance and lacks the pigment to hide any real issues. BB Creams typically act as an anti-aging base along with other benefits such as fuller coverage, brightening abilities, etc….sadly Gosh BB Cream only acts as a moisturizer of sorts sans any other multitasking benefits including a higher SPF which is the standard with a good BB Cream. On that note it does contain titanium dioxide however, this is not for use in a sunscreen of any kind. The titanium dioxide does not give the product a white cast so no worries however, if you’re allergic to the ingredient or your face simply doesn’t get on with it you might reconsider a purchase of this.

Since the formula acts more as tinted moisturizer I was disappointed with the wear. It fades rather quickly on me and disappears within a two hour period.

Overall, Gosh BB Cream is a fairly nice yet expensive drugstore tinted moisturizer but NOT a BB Cream by any means. I dislike the misleading marketing on many of these drugstore BB Creams. I just saw the Olay CC Cream commercial a few days ago and shook my head in disgust. Way to capitalize.

Moral of the story?

This is just another tinted moisturizer with “BB Cream” slapped on the bottle. As a tinted moisturizer it is nice but at this price I might as well indulge in a higher end one…..!

Available now at Duane Reade or if you’re not in New York you can order online at www.goshcosmetics.com

It costs HOW MUCH and it doesn’t even moisturize amazingly or have any sort of good pigmentation!??!?!???!!?! Oh lordy, this sounds like a nightmare!!

Sad, another false claim. Glad you bit the bullet for us, Muse, now we know.

Seriously, that double B is starting to make me want to be sick… Everyone is launching BB creams like crazy, but maybe 20% of those products are ACTUALLY BB creams. Lame.

Ugh. I feel bad for the average, mainstream, American consumers because I think they’re missing out on how great BB creams can really be. They get this crud and then think BBs are useless. Stinks.

Also, disappears within 2 hours?! Ummm, not cool!
