Japonesque Safari Chic Mini Brush Set Review

Japonesque Safari Chic Mini Brush Set ($29.95) is a trio of mini synthetic brushes that are cruelty free. Typically synthetic brushes don’t always turn out great for me….for some reason I end up with ones that shed, have scratchy bristles, or just aren’t dense enough to apply makeup properly.

However, on occasion I run into some that are worthy of some attention. Is the Japonesque Safari Chic Mini Brush Trio one of those great synthetic brush sets?

Animal print seems to be the trend of the season and I imagine when Spring 2013 hits we’ll see more of. These brushes have white bristles with a swirl of animal print at the tips so they are right on target with the trend of the season.

The brush set comes housed in a chic fabric flip top brush holder. These are short handled brushes so they travel easily in this little case should you wish to tote around a basic set of brushes with you for eyes and face.

You get a powder brush, a shadow brush, and a crease brush made from synthetic fibers that are cruelty-free and vegan friendly. All three brushes have SUPER soft bristles that don’t shed or have a scratchy feel on cheeks or eyes. I’ve run across some synthetic brushes that feel like steel wool! These are as soft as cotton!

For those heavy handed with makeup you’ll possibly appreciate the floppier, softer bristles as they allow for very soft makeup application that appears almost airbrushed on. The powder brush picks up just the right amount of powder to swipe across cheeks in an even, soft application. I’m heavy handed so I easily over do it with denser brushes. This allows me to apply just the right amount of product without over doing it.

The shadows brushes are equally soft but I actually like a denser brush for shadow application. Softer bristles produce more fall out for me. However, they do well with color washing if you’re one for wearing lighter applications of eyeshadow.

Overall, this is a lovely set of synthetic brushes if that’s your medium of choice when it comes to your beauty tools. They are a shy on the expensive side in my humblest as they are short handled brushes, perhaps $20 or $25 would be a little friendly price wise. If you’ve had bad experiences with synthetic brushes I urge you to check these out these might just change your mind.
