Sephora Deluxe Manicure Kit Review

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

I’m kinda in love with the new Sephora Deluxe Manicure Kit released for Holiday 2012. I think we’ve established how paranoid I am when it comes to germs, bacteria, etc…etc….! If you haven’t already firgured out how anal I am, I’m not willing to share more about it…my lips are sealed.

One thing that I’m really kinda squeamish about is mani and pedi tools. Every two weeks I head in for a manicure and a pedicure however, I admit, I do bring my own set of tools when I go. I’ve been to some really great nail spas in my day but I simply don’t love the idea of tools that have been used on someone else prior to me. Yak!

This little Deluxe Manicure Kit from Sephora has all the essentials I need to tote with me for a mani/pedi day in a cute snap close case.

If you’re as anal as I am you need it!

This seven piece set comes in a in a durable case yet stylish black velvet lined case that fits easily into your tote or purse. It has a snap closure as well as small spots for each of the seven tools it includes so everything has a spot and all remains organized.

You get:

  • Small Nail Clipper
  • Large Nail Clipper
  • Nail Cleaner
  • Precision Scissors
  • Cuticle Pusher
  • Cuticle Nipper
  • Cuticle Jaw

Just add your own polish and you’re good to go.

As for me…I wish I could buy my own foot basin…yeah, that kinda freaks me out too….maybe my own pedicure chair too!

Maybe next Christmas!

This set is available in pink or black for $30 at Sephora and Sephora.com

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I don’t blame you on the foot basin thing hon..I read a study about the pedi chairs and the amount of bacteria in them because of the jet features. Clean those as much as you’d like but apparently when you drain the basin the jet sucks a bit of old water back in and pushes it out the next time you fill. Yeah…ewww.

I’ve never gone for a mani/pedi, because I’m afraid of half of the tools! I have nice enough cuticles, the idea of some stranger trying to remove them scares me. I’m afraid I won’t be able to stop them from grating off my foot with a Pedegg.

Also, my nail polish chips quite fast, so I’d feel like I hadn’t gotten my money’s worth when I inevitably have to redo my polish after like four days.

A lady I work with gets them rather frequently, but I’m too scared to try, haha.

Re: salon tools – if all the salon does is put them in jars of disinfectant or barbicide or whatever, they’re not going to be clean enough. BUT if they autoclave their instruments, it’s totally safe. You’ll know if the instruments are autoclaved because they’ll be sealed in a paper and plastic pouch that the tech should open in front of you. The salon I go to autoclaves their instruments and I’ve never had a problem, and I’ve been going there for a decade.

I really enjoy a lot of the sephora brand tools and stuff and this set is a good price if the quality is on par with the implements they sell separately.

I got mine in pink when it first appeared online awhile ago and I admit I love it too, I have had better nippers before but the cuteness and case kinda make up for it!! (And yea I’m with you, germs, eww, no thanks!!)
