Sneak Peek: Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm

As you know from an earlier post I did the new Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm will be launching very shortly on counter. I actually had heard these would be a Spring 2013 release but looks like we won’t have to wait as Santa is delivering them to counters around December. Heck, if you’re lucky, maybe your counter already has them!

This new formulation is the same great formula we know and love infused with shea butter, mango seed butter, and jojoba seed oil to keep our lips soft and supple. What changed? The pigmentation of the balms! They now offer a new fuller color pay off for a more intense finish.

I got shivers just thinking about it. I love the original formula but I so could so get on board with more color pay off!

Here’s a little sneak peek of what the new shades look like and a review will be upcoming shortly!

The new Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm will be available in eight shades for $16 each. I haven’t really compared them but I do see a few dupes here from the original line. This is a good thing because if you had issues with a color being a little too sheer perhaps the new Intense formulation will provide you with the color pay off you desire.

I loved Clinique Chubby Sticks Collection of Curviest Caramel, Heftiest Hibiscus,Mightiest Maraschino 🙂

  • sara

Is curviest caramel nude on or is an orange hue nude? I’m super fair so a lot of nudes don’t work on me

    • the Muse

kinda beige-y pink nothing orange about it sara. Same problem for me, not super fair, but nudes look like death on me this looks a little MLBB but haven’t tried it yet so can’t confirm!

So excited to see your review on these ! I never bought any chubby sticks because they seemed too sheer for me, but these look great !

  • Angela

How would these compare with their Almost Lipstick, do you think? I love my chic honey, so moisturizing and such a pretty colour! These look so tempting!

    • the Muse

there more of a lip balm angela with a balmy texture, heavier than almost lipstick.

  • BLee

Now that is a great change. I my have to give them a go. Im not a sheer color one and these may do what I wish my Revlon ones do. Thanks for the new update, Muse 😀

I adore the names! Chunkiest Chili? That’s awesome! You know I’m gonna be hauling these!

  • midori

By looking at these photos, I think Curviest Caramel and Chunkiest Chili will come home with me. Looking forward to the swatches ; )!
I am currently buying too many lipsticks, though. The Lipstick Queen Dancing Queen set is currently in the shopping bag. Did you get it; )?

    • the Muse

OMG me too midori! It’s in my cart! the only thing preventing me is that nude shade, I’m a little scared of it….! I didn’t hit submit because of it ;-D what do you think?

      • midori

I’m rather afraid of the rose color myself but since it says that it’s sheer, I think I am willing to take the risk…I might go to Bendel’s and check them out in person, if they have it.

  • Tammie

Roomiest Rose and Curviest Caramel must be mine @_@. Well unless Curviest Caramel is too orange or mod on me, IRL.

  • Lauren

I want broadest berry. I’ve been hunting for a sheer berry for the holidays. I may need to run down to Macy’s and check it out!

I’m bummed–the way the name is written, I thought “Intense” modified “Moisturizing,” as in “intensely moisturizing,” rather than “Lip Color,” as in “intensely colored.” I prefer sheer lippies, and am one of those weirdos who hated the Revlon Lip Butters because the colors all seemed too garish.

Anyways, I hate to sound like an English teacher, but Clinique should have named these Chubby Stick Moisturizing Intense Lip Color Balm. 😛

  • Cookie

Uh-uh. Not just you. That does not sound like something I’d want to put on my lips! I’m all over that caramel one, though!

  • blueraccoon

I wonder how these will compare to the pigmentation in the Revlon balm stains. I have all of those but I don’t have any of the Clinique – I may have to pick up a few of these new ones 🙂

  • Becca @ The Beauty Sample

These won’t be replacing the old ones, right?! I never did get around to trying them, but it’s still on my list. I don’t personally wear lipstick much and prefer a sheer tinted balm. I’d hate for them to discontinue the sheerer ones in favor of these (which I’m sure are nice and I probably will want to try a shade or 2 of)

  • Patti

I love these! Loved the Chubby Sticks too, but wish the price point were a little lower. I can get 2 lip butters for that price (love those lip butters). : ) Clinique never disappoints.

  • midori

I saw the lipstick set! The nude color is sheer and the pink particles prevent it from being scary ; )

  • lisa

i have about 6 of the original formula, will be buying more, these look so pretty!! the caramel and hibiscus are top on my list.

  • Joan

I bought four of these shades and absolutely love them! The original shades just didn’t have enough pigmentation for me, but these are great! Lots of color. Now I’m still waiting for the Chubby Sticks for eyes. Asked a technician at a Clinique counter when they were coming out and all she did was shrug her shoulders????

    • the Muse

joan keep hearing spring 2013 due to issues with the formula. should have been fall 2012 :-/

  • Jamie

Is there a brownish mauve color? I looked at the original ones tonight and these but couldn’t find quite the right color in the new ones. They appear to have too much red tones. There was one, but not sure in that store lighting.
