The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Lip Balm Review
Oh hai cute little Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Lip Balm wanna be friends forever? The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Lip Balm is one of three limited edition lip balms that the Body Shop introduced for Holiday 2012.
These little balms will probably be familiar to you due to their unusual shape as EOS Lip Balms come in a similarly dome shape.
I think they make an excellent tiny treat for stuffing stockings!
Take a look!
The Body Shop Holiday Lip Balms come in three flavors with each marked at a friendly six dollar price tag. Although I admit I hauled them during one of the many excellent sales that the Body Shop had this year so I only paid three bucks. Score! Deal! Loves it!
The balm is quite tiny, a little bigger than the size of a quarter in diameter which makes them an excellent pick to travel with or stash away in your desk drawer without taking up a ton of space.
Ginger Sparkle is a golden peach shade with flecks of gold sparkle but sadly it applies transparently with a tiny hint of the sparkle showing on lips. It has a ginger-y flavor which has a little bit of zing to it, it kinda tastes like I’m applying Philosophy Gingerbread Man Shower Gel to my lips…I know, weird analogy…but the scent of the Gingerbread Man translates to this flavor. Although similiar to the Gingerbread Man in flavor and fragrance, the Body Shop’s version of ginger has a bit more of a sparkle to it and an effervescence. But don’t mistake that sparkle for a ginger ale style flavor because that you won’t get…it’s more citrus and ginger-y, unique to say the least. I found it quite pleasant and tasty after getting used to it.
The dome shape allows you to easily swipe the balm on in a hurry. The finish is a balm-y, heavier texture that’s comparable to using Chapstick. It adds moisture but not the type of moisture that gives lips a glossy or shiny look. After having it on for most of the day my lips feel quite soft.
It’s available for a limited time at the Body Shop or online at www.thebodyshop-usa.com
